We had a lovely morning at the Holburne Museum last week, exploring the Ancient Landscapes, Modern Times exhibition before getting creative in a workshop inspired by Eric Ravilious’s wood prints 🎨

Using different textures and ink, everyone enjoyed creating their own wonderful landscape prints, taking ideas from the artwork we'd seen 🖼 It was a lovely opportunity to explore the exhibition, get creative and spend time together.

And there’s one more visit to the Holburne Museum to look forward to this year, on Wednesday 25th November (with more planned for 2027).

We’d love you to join us! 👉Visit https://www.reminduk.org/get-support/activities-and-events/ and view our full programme of free support activities.

Could looking after your mental health today help protect your brain health in the future? 💛

This World Mental Health Day, we’re highlighting the relationship between mental health and dementia.

Depression in midlife has been linked to a higher risk of dementia later in life, although researchers are still exploring why. Factors such as poor sleep, social withdrawal and reduced physical and mental activity may play a role. Importantly, however, research suggests that treating depression may help reduce this increased risk.

It’s another reminder that looking after our mental health is an important part of looking after our overall wellbeing.

We’ve loved seeing everyone at our recent Coffee Morning Socials in Keynsham and Midsomer Norton! 💜

These relaxed sessions are a chance for people living with dementia, their families and carers to get together, meet others and enjoy some good company.

Recently, we’ve enjoyed playing musical bingo, sharing puzzles and getting creative with painting, but there’s no pressure to join in. You can simply come along, enjoy a coffee and have a chat if you prefer ☕

We’ve got more Coffee Morning Socials coming up in Bath and Midsomer Norton before the end of the year with some festive activities planned, and more scheduled for 2027.

Sometimes, it’s the simple things that bring us together 💜 - a new activity, a shared laugh or a chat over a cup of tea ☕️

Yesterday was International Day of Older Persons, and we’re celebrating what’s on our doorstep. The local places, activities and connections that help us feel part of our communities 💫

Our Chat, Make & Move sessions give people living with dementia and their loved ones the chance to meet others, try different activities and enjoy time together.

Our next 10-week course starts 5 October in Peasedown St John, with further courses in the new year.

As World Alzheimer’s Month comes to a close, we’re reminded that looking after our brain health is something we can do throughout life 🧠💜

Research has identified 14 potentially modifiable risk factors for dementia, including high blood pressure, hearing loss, physical inactivity, smoking, diabetes, depression and social isolation.

We can’t control everything, and there’s no guaranteed way to prevent dementia. But looking after our overall health may help reduce or delay the risk.

A first for ReMind UK 💜 A milestone for dementia research 🔬

We’re delighted to be the first site in the UK and Europe to open the Tremhance study, a new clinical trial investigating a tablet treatment for Alzheimer’s disease.

The study is being coordinated in the UK through ReMind UK and the UK Dementia Trials Network (UKDTN), alongside the Alzheimer's Society Research Nurse Programme, helping expand the reach of early-phase trials and create more opportunities for people affected by dementia to take part in research.

We’re proud to be a member of this growing network and to be contributing to the future of dementia research.
