When was the last time you felt genuinely happy?

Maybe you’re feeling lonely, sad, isolated, anxious, angry or super stressed out.

There’s a lot going on in the world right now and energetically we’re being pulled in so many directions.

Some of those feelings are because life’s challenges leave us feeling depleted and run down.

And some of those feelings are due to much deeper traumas and experiences we’ve been holding since we were young, or are things that have happened to us that we haven’t yet processed properly.

The good news is, there are ways to move through your emotions and physical feelings to get you back to a more settled and balanced place.

DM me if you’d like some private support, or if you’d love to bring one of my unique, immersive workshops to your next event. Whether your audience is large or small, let’s create something memorable that brings fresh energy, connection and a whole new experience. 🫶🏼🌀

Could the way you speak to yourself be affecting more than just your confidence?

Persistent emotional stress doesn’t only influence our thoughts. It can also affect sleep, digestion, energy levels and the body’s inflammatory responses.

One of the molecules involved in inflammation is TNF-alpha, a signalling protein whose production is influenced by the TNF gene.

Ginger contains natural compounds called gingerols and shogaols, which have been studied for their potential anti-inflammatory properties, including their effects on inflammatory signalling.

Although ginger isn’t a treatment for emotional stress or negative thinking, incorporating it into your diet may offer some wider health benefits.

And while supporting your physical wellbeing is important, exploring the beliefs and emotional experiences contributing to persistent self-criticism can be equally valuable.

Sometimes looking after ourselves means paying attention to both what we’re putting into our bodies and what we’re repeatedly telling ourselves.

Would you criticise someone for having a physical injury, or would you recognise they need care and support?

Yet when we’re struggling emotionally, we often speak to ourselves in ways we’d never speak to someone else.

Those harsh internal messages can originate from childhood experiences with parents, teachers or others whose words made us feel inadequate, ashamed or not good enough.

Over time, their judgements can become our own beliefs, influencing our confidence, relationships and everyday decisions.

Recognising where those messages came from can help us challenge them and develop a more compassionate relationship with ourselves.

Emotional wounds deserve just as much understanding as physical ones.

Could the things you believe about your abilities today have more to do with someone else’s limitations than your own?

Perhaps you struggle to celebrate achievements, abandon ideas before giving them a chance, or feel uncomfortable receiving recognition for something you’ve done well.

Growing up with criticism, unrealistic expectations or a lack of encouragement can influence how we see our capabilities long into adulthood.

Sometimes the beliefs we carry about ourselves reflect the fears, disappointments or unresolved experiences of the adults who raised us.

And those beliefs can follow us into our careers, relationships and creative ambitions, quietly influencing the opportunities we allow ourselves to pursue.

Exploring where those expectations originated, recognising your achievements and developing a more supportive relationship with yourself can help you begin separating your identity from other people’s judgements.

Someone else’s inability to recognise your potential doesn’t determine what you’re capable of becoming.

Could the way you speak to yourself be influencing how your body responds to stress?

Constant self-criticism, worrying about mistakes or feeling inadequate can contribute to prolonged stress, affecting sleep, digestion, energy and inflammatory processes.

TNF-alpha is a protein involved in inflammation, and ongoing stress can influence inflammatory signalling.

Ginger contains natural compounds studied for their potential anti-inflammatory benefits.

Although ginger won’t change years of negative thinking, supporting your physical health alongside exploring emotional patterns can help improve your overall wellbeing.

Sometimes looking after your body also means paying attention to how you treat yourself.

Do you spend so much time worrying about how others perceive you that you sometimes lose sight of who you actually are?

Perhaps you analyse conversations afterwards, worry you’ve said something embarrassing, or feel you need to prove yourself before people will accept you.

When we’ve experienced repeated judgement, exclusion or criticism, we can begin to absorb other people’s opinions as beliefs about ourselves.

Over time, those messages can influence our confidence, relationships and willingness to express ourselves, even when the people who originally made us feel that way are no longer around.

Recognising where those beliefs came from can help you begin questioning whether they’re actually true.

You don’t have to keep measuring yourself against someone else’s expectations of who you should be.

Could two people eating exactly the same foods be getting different nutritional benefits from them?

Our bodies don’t all absorb, convert and utilise nutrients in precisely the same way, and some of those differences can be influenced by our genetics.

This means that even when someone eats what appears to be a balanced diet, their individual nutritional requirements may differ from someone else’s.

Certain genetic variations can influence how efficiently the body produces or converts essential nutrients involved in immune function, cellular health and normal physiological processes.

When we’re experiencing prolonged emotional stress, it’s also worth considering whether our diet is providing the nutrients needed to support our general health and wellbeing.

Exploring your nutritional habits, understanding potential deficiencies and recognising that your body’s requirements may be different can be useful alongside emotional and body-based therapeutic work.

Looking after your emotional wellbeing and your physical health doesn’t have to be two separate conversations.

Just because you’re moving forward, does that mean you’re actually making progress?

Sometimes we spend years repeating familiar behaviours, believing things are changing simply because life keeps moving.

You might change relationships, jobs or environments, yet find yourself experiencing the same frustrations, conflicts or emotional challenges.

Old patterns can feel comfortable because they’re familiar, even when they’re no longer helping us.

And sometimes those patterns have worked incredibly well for us in the past, protecting us, helping us fit in or allowing us to navigate difficult situations.

But what once helped us can eventually become the very thing holding us back.

Recognising the difference between repeating a pattern and genuinely changing it can be an important part of personal growth.

Because movement doesn’t always mean progress, and sometimes change begins when we stop following the same path.

Did you grow up feeling older than your years, as though you had responsibilities that other children didn’t seem to have?

Perhaps you became particularly independent, learnt to anticipate problems before they happened, or felt responsible for making sure everything at home ran smoothly.

When children take on emotional responsibilities beyond their developmental stage, they can begin to associate being useful, dependable or needed with receiving love and connection.

As adults, this can sometimes show up as difficulty accepting help, feeling uncomfortable resting, becoming overly responsible in relationships or believing everything will fall apart unless they take charge.

Recognising these patterns can help you understand why receiving support might feel unfamiliar, even when you’re exhausted from giving so much of yourself.

Practising asking for help, sharing responsibilities and allowing yourself to have needs without feeling guilty can gradually change those expectations.

You deserve relationships where support moves in both directions.
