WHY I’VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT WINTERING

I’ve been thinking about how easily we get caught up in the busyness of life.

There is always something to do, someone to look after or something else on the list. Sometimes we get so used to keeping going that we forget to ask ourselves what we actually need.

The idea of wintering really resonates with me. Nature shows us that there is a time for growth and a time for rest. Neither is more important than the other.

We don’t need to be at our most productive all the time. We don’t need to have everything figured out. And we certainly don’t need to earn our rest by doing everything else first.

I’m learning to appreciate the value of slowing down, creating a little quiet and allowing myself to take things at a gentler pace.

It’s one of the reasons Marjory and I wanted to create The Quiet Season — a morning where people can step away from everyday demands and give themselves permission to pause.

Because we can’t be in full bloom all year round. Sometimes we need a quieter season, too.

🐾 ANIMAL REIKI 🐾

With Bonfire Night approaching, it can be a difficult time for animals who are nervous or sensitive to loud noises.

The bangs, flashes and unexpected sounds can leave some animals feeling anxious and unsettled.

Reiki offers a calm, quiet space where they can relax without pressure or expectations. Every animal is different, so I always work at their pace and respect their individual needs. ❤️

Sometimes the changes are subtle — a deeper breath, becoming more relaxed or simply settling a little easier. But when you know your animal, you notice those little things. 🐾
