Develop the state that supports better decisions, relationships and performance.
Breathwork is beginning to find its way into more organisations.
And I think the opportunity is much bigger than giving people a few minutes to relax.
The way we breathe influences our physiological state. And our physiological state, in turn, affects what we can access when the pressure rises: our attention, judgement, emotional regulation, ability to listen and capacity to stay with complexity.
That is where I see the organisational value.
A breathwork session can give people practical ways to recognise their own state and influence it more consciously.
For a leadership team, that might mean noticing activation before it becomes reactivity.
For someone preparing for a difficult conversation, it may create enough steadiness to stay present rather than rush, defend or avoid.
For a team living through sustained change, it can provide a shared language for what pressure is doing to them and some practical ways of working with it.
The work can range from short, accessible regulation practices through to deeper facilitated breathwork, depending on the context and what the organisation is trying to achieve.
What matters to me is that it is grounded in the realities of working life.
Pressure will still be there. The question is whether people have greater capacity to meet it.
If you’re exploring how breathwork or nervous-system regulation could support your leaders or teams, I’d be very happy to have a conversation.
