Hi, I’m Jordan.

Some of you will know me through Brum Circle, which I’ve been running for quite a while now as a free/low-cost community support space in Birmingham.

Brum Circle isn’t counselling or therapy. It’s simply a space where people can come together, connect, talk openly and feel supported by others.

Alongside the group, I also offer one-to-one counselling for adults and young people aged 13–17.

I work in person across Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Buckinghamshire, and I also offer online and telephone counselling.

My work includes supporting people with things like anxiety, stress, anger, trauma, relationships, low mood, difficult life experiences and sometimes just that feeling of being stuck and not quite knowing how to move forward.

A lot of my experience has also involved working with men, both individually and in groups, around stress, anger, identity, relationships and the pressures that can sometimes be difficult to talk about.

I’m particularly interested in the mind-body connection too, helping people understand not only what they’re thinking and feeling, but what may be happening underneath in the nervous system and how past experiences can continue to affect us.

I’m a Qualified Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and hold an Enhanced DBS.

If you’ve been thinking about counselling but haven’t quite taken that first step, I offer a free initial consultation in person, by phone or online. It’s simply a chance to have a chat, ask any questions and see whether working together feels right.

If you’d like to have a chat, feel free to drop me a private message.

And if you know someone who might benefit from either one-to-one counselling or from the Brum Circle community, please feel free to share this post or pass my details on.

No pressure or obligation. đź’™

A smaller Brum Circle last night, but a really good mix of ages, backgrounds and perspectives in the room. ❤️

We spent the evening reflecting on our own “harvest” from the summer, what had gone well, what we had learnt, what had challenged us, and what we might want to carry forward.

We also looked ahead to winter and explored some of the fears, uncertainties and heavier feelings that can come with the darker months, and how we might meet those with more awareness, connection and support.

That’s really what Brum Circle is about. Real people, honest conversation, and a space to slow things down for a couple of hours.

📸 Photo shared with everyone’s consent.

Our next Brum Circle is:

⏰ 7–9pm
📍 The Sound School Birmingham, upstairs at The Old Print Works

Then we’re back on the last Tuesday of every month moving forward.

Everyone is welcome. ❤️

🌕🍂 BRUM CIRCLE — THIS MONDAY 🍂🌕

Tonight is the Harvest Moon — the full moon that falls closest to the Autumn Equinox.

Traditionally, it got its name because its bright light gave farmers extra time in the evening to bring in the harvest before winter.

I quite like that idea.

A little extra light at the point where the seasons are changing. A chance to gather what’s been good, notice what hasn’t worked so well, and take stock before moving forward.

That’s the spirit we’ll be bringing into Brum Circle this Monday.

A couple of hours in person to slow things down, step away from the noise and connect with other people.

Brum Circle is a community support space for anyone navigating stress, anxiety, low mood, depression, loneliness, change, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling like life has got a bit heavy.

You don’t need to be in crisis.
You don’t need to know exactly what you want to say.
You can just come as you are.

In a world where we’re more connected through technology than ever, there’s something really valuable about being in a room together, face to face.

🎟️ Free community support tickets are available if money is a barrier. No explanation needed.

Everyone who attends can also join our free Brum Circle WhatsApp support group.

Come and bring a little light into the next season. ❤️

This is where your donations are going. ❤️

Not into advertising. Not into administration. Into creating real opportunities for young people.

This week, one of the young people I’ve been supporting through One Chance spent two days with us getting hands-on experience in e-commerce.

He turned up early. Got stuck in. Learned product photography, helped prepare and upload products and experienced being part of a real working environment.

And he came back the next day wanting to do more.

That might sound like a small thing. It isn’t.

All of the young people I’m currently supporting are NEET — not in education, employment or training.

So this isn’t just about learning e-commerce. It’s about confidence, self-esteem, routine, being around good people, feeling included and beginning to see new possibilities for yourself.

The One Chance fund helps remove some of the barriers that can stop these opportunities happening, travel, food, activities and practical support.

Next week there’s more e-commerce experience, another young person returning to our community support group, and we’re working towards helping one of the lads gain some independence through learning to drive.

But our little pot is getting very low.

I really don’t want lack of money to be the reason I have to start saying no to these opportunities.

So I’m asking for a little help. ❤️

£5, £10, £20 — whatever you can spare. It genuinely adds up and helps me keep saying yes when a young person is ready to take another step.

Can’t donate? A share helps too.

And to everyone who’s already backed One Chance — look at these photos. This is what you’ve helped make possible. ❤️

🍂 BRUM CIRCLE BACK THIS MONDAY 28th September 🍂

The Autumn Equinox gives us a natural point to pause, take stock and check in with ourselves.

What’s gone well over the summer?
What hasn’t?
What are we carrying?
And what do we want to move into the winter months with?

Brum Circle is back this Monday, 28 September, 7–9pm for an in-person evening of connection, reflection and support around our mental health and wellbeing.

A couple of hours to slow things down, get a little clearer, feel a little lighter and spend some time with other people doing the same.

📍 The Sound School Birmingham
Upstairs at The Old Print Works
498–506 Moseley Road, Balsall Heath, Birmingham, B12 9AH

🎟️ Paid tickets and free community tickets are available. If money is a barrier, just take a free place — no explanation needed.

This month we’re meeting on a Monday, then from next month Brum Circle returns to the last Tuesday of every month, continuing into 2027.

Come and sit in circle with us. 🍂

The trailer for Animol, directed by Ashley Walters with Stephen Graham.

Wow.

So much of this connects with work I’ve done with young people and survivors of trauma

Shame is huge.

In therapy, we often meet it underneath the anger, bravado, addiction, self-destruction and “I don’t care”.

Guilt says: “I did something bad.”
Shame says: “I am bad.”

And one of the most powerful realisations in healing can be:

Maybe this shame was never mine to carry.

When I started working with survivors of sexual violence at RSVP, Unshame and The Courage to Heal were two of the books recommended to me. They changed how I understood trauma and healing.

I have huge respect for the work Ashley Walters and Stephen Graham keep putting out. There’s something incredibly powerful about taking lived experience, pain and difficult environments, and turning them into creativity, understanding and something that might actually help someone else.

What happened to us matters.
But it doesn’t have to decide who we become.

Really looking forward to watching this. Powerful stuff. đź’™

BRUM CIRCLE – SEPTEMBER

A small one-off date change for September — Brum Circle will be on Monday 28th September, 7–9pm, at The Old Print Works, Birmingham.

Brum Circle is a relaxed community support space to come together, connect, reflect, share and simply be around others. No pressure to talk, no previous experience needed — just come as you are.

I’ve always tried to keep the cost as low as possible, so tickets are just £5, which simply helps towards the cost of hiring the room and keeping the space running.

And if £5 is a barrier right now, please don’t let that stop you coming. There are free Community Support Tickets available, so feel completely comfortable booking one of those if you need it. No explanation needed. ❤️

Book here:
https://bookwhen.com/gongyogi/e/ev-sswn0-20260928190000

After September, Brum Circle will continue as usual on the last Tuesday of every month.

Hopefully see some of you there 🙏

A quick One Chance Mentoring update. 🌿

Firstly, thank you to everyone who has donated, shared the page and supported this journey. Every contribution is making a real difference.

This week we’ve helped young people access mentoring, support groups, work experience opportunities and their first boxing sessions. Sometimes it’s the smallest things—travel, a meal or simply opening a door—that can make the biggest difference.

If you’d like to support One Chance, donate here:

If you run a gym, café, community space, training provider or business and think you could offer an opportunity to a young person, I’d love to hear from you.

One conversation.
One opportunity.
One chance. đź’™

Another beautiful Brum Circle tonight. đź’›

Thank you to everyone who came and helped create such a grounded, honest and connected space.

There was laughter, silence, vulnerability and courage. Anger came into the room too, and it was a reminder that every emotion has a place. We don’t need to push difficult feelings away or judge them, sometimes they simply need to be seen, heard and understood.

For a couple of hours, we were able to put down the masks, slow things down and simply be ourselves.

🌿 Wild & Wise Group Therapy | This Wednesday | Penn, Buckinghamshire

This Wednesday we’re gathering once again for Wild & Wise, our monthly therapist-led group therapy circle in the heart of Penn.

Life can be busy. Sometimes we just need somewhere to pause, reflect and reconnect, with ourselves and with others.

Wild & Wise offers a confidential, professionally facilitated group therapy space where you’re welcome exactly as you are. There’s never any pressure to share, and everyone moves at their own pace.

We’re committed to keeping the space accessible, with First Session Tickets (£7), Early Bird tickets (£15) and a number of free Community Supported Tickets available for anyone experiencing financial hardship.

🎟️ Book here:

This will be our last Wild & Wise session before we take a break in August. We’ll return refreshed in September, continuing on the last Wednesday of every month.

Come as you are. Leave feeling a little lighter. đź’š
