If you're supporting a person with dementia, our hot weather checklist is a handy guide to help you through the warmer days. Small, practical steps can make a big difference in helping someone stay safe and comfortable.

The yellow heat-health alert for the South West runs until 8pm on Saturday 11 July.

Look out for the signs of heat-related illness in yourself and others:
⬇️
• Feeling dizzy, weak, sick or very thirsty? It could be heat exhaustion. Move somewhere cool, drink fluids and try to lower your body temperature.
• Painful muscle cramps? Rest straight away in a cool place and drink plenty of fluids. Seek medical advice if symptoms continue.
• A high temperature, confusion, fast breathing, skin that is no longer sweating or seizures could be heatstroke—a medical emergency. Call 999, place the person in the recovery position and try to cool them down.

Bowel Cancer Screening requires a tiny bit of poo to help detect cancer early, when it is easiest to treat. If you are aged 50-74, you will receive an at-home test in the post.
