Most implant healing is straightforward, but there are a few signs you shouldn’t brush off. 🚩

Some discomfort, swelling and light bleeding can be expected in the early stages after implant surgery.

What matters is how things progress.

Pain that gets worse, swelling that keeps increasing, persistent bleeding, discharge or an implant or restoration that feels loose should all be checked by your dental team.

If something doesn’t feel right, don’t wait for your next routine appointment.

When a tooth is badly damaged, removing it isn't always the only option.

Depending on what's happening beneath the surface, some teeth may still be restored. For others, removal and replacement may be the more appropriate route.

The decision can depend on how much healthy tooth remains, as well as the condition of the roots, gums and supporting structures.

That's why the first step isn't choosing a treatment. It's properly assessing the tooth.
