Do you want some great news on a Friday afternoon??

Your institution has been categorised on the approved list as a special post-16 institution (SPI) for the purposes of satisfying section 38 of the Children and Families Act (preparation of an Education, Health and Care Plan by local authorities).

This means we are officially a registered special post-16 institution!!🤩🤩

The funding will enable 50 of our disabled beneficiaries to access the Xero For Good Unlock Your Numbers resources completely free! From informative and easy-to-understand video tutorials on all aspects of self-employment finance to the opportunity of receiving free mentoring support, SAMEE charity beneficiaries will be one of the first to access these valuable resources 👏💜

Day 4 of Mentor Training week at The SAMEE Charity 💜

The final day of Mentor Training Week before we welcome back our interns next week! 👏

Day 4 focused on something just as important as starting a mentoring relationship — knowing how to bring it to a positive and meaningful close, and what comes next 🌟

We explored how to support young people through transition, recognise the progress they’ve made, celebrate achievements, and ensure that endings feel like new beginnings rather than goodbyes. 🌱

We also looked ahead at the next steps for our mentors — building confidence, reflecting on what we’ve learned, and thinking about the difference we can continue to make.

A huge thank you to everyone for your openness, participation and commitment throughout the week. 💜

The end of one journey can be the beginning of another. ✨

Day 3 of Mentor Training Week at The SAMEE Charity 💜

Today was all about the power of communication, recognising each other’s strengths, and building positive connections.

We shared ideas, learned from one another and took time to show appreciation for the incredible people who make our mentoring community so special. 💜

Then it was time to take things outdoors for an afternoon of Garden Olympics! 🏆🌿 From teamwork and problem-solving to plenty of laughter, it was a fantastic reminder that when we work together, we can achieve so much more.

A huge thank you to everyone for bringing such great energy, enthusiasm and kindness to Day 3. 🙌

Day 2 of Mentor Training Week at The SAMEE Charity! 💜

Another brilliant day of learning, sharing ideas and building our knowledge to better support the young adults on our self-employment programme.

Today, we focused on two key areas:

✨ EHCPs — developing our understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans and how we can use them to better support, advocate for and remove barriers for the young adults we work with.

🚀 Our Careers Structure — exploring the exciting changes ahead as we develop a clearer, stronger pathway towards self-employment, helping young adults to recognise their strengths, set goals and build confident, independent futures.

It was a day full of practical tools, real conversations and shared learning — all helping us to continue empowering young adults to explore the possibilities of self-employment.

Thank you to everyone for your enthusiasm, openness and commitment. Here's to another amazing day of Mentor Training Week! 🌟

Day 1 of Mentor Training Week at The SAMEE Charity! 💜

Today’s focus was communication — exploring the many ways we connect, communicate and understand one another and the people we work with. From verbal and non-verbal communication to active listening, body language and digital tools, our mentors shared ideas and experiences while learning how effective communication can make a real difference.

A fantastic start to a week of connection, collaboration and growth! 🌟
