💜 PURPLE TUESDAY | 3RD NOVEMBER 2026 💜
At Buzzbo, inclusion and accessibility are things we believe should be part of everyday life, that's why we're so pleased to be recognising Purple Tuesday!
But what exactly is Purple Tuesday?
Purple Tuesday is an international initiative that encourages businesses and organisations to improve the experiences of disabled people by making their services, environments and customer experiences more accessible and inclusive.
Originally launched in 2018, it was created to challenge businesses to recognise the barriers disabled people face and, more importantly, to do something about them.
And why does this matter so much?
Because accessibility is about so much more than ramps, lifts and wheelchair access.
It's about recognising that disabilities aren't always visible. It's about understanding different needs, considering sensory sensitivities, providing accessible information, improving communication and making sure people feel welcome, understood and included.
💡 And here's something we really want businesses to understand…
Making your business more accessible doesn't necessarily mean spending thousands of pounds or making huge physical changes.
Sometimes, it's as simple as providing clearer information.
Does your website explain whether your premises have steps?
Do you let customers know if an environment is particularly busy or noisy?
Do you provide information about accessible facilities before someone visits?
Are you clear about what someone can expect when they arrive?
These might seem like little things, but they can make an enormous difference.
Because having the right information allows someone to make an informed decision about whether a place, service or experience is right for them.
And that is what inclusion is all about. Giving people choice, independence and the opportunity to participate without unnecessary barriers!
