You asked AI what to eat for ADHD. It gave you a list. 👇

What it didn’t do is ask:
• Whether your symptoms change when you drink too much coffee or eat too much sugar
• When your iron or ferritin was last checked
• How much water you’ve actually had today
• When you take your medication and when it wears off

Those answers change the plan: appetite, cravings, energy, and which nutrients are worth looking at.

AI is a useful tool. But it can only answer the questions you know to ask, and no one teaches you which ones matter.

That’s the part I’m trained to do. I’m a pharmacist and ADHD nutrition specialist, and I build plans personalised to each person at Ashleigh Fran.

Save this for the next time you’re about to ask AI what to eat. 🤍

“Just eat more protein for dopamine.” You’ve seen it everywhere. Here’s the part nobody explains. 👇

Protein gives your body the raw material. But turning it into dopamine depends on iron, B6 and a helper molecule called BH4, which folate helps recycle. If one of those is low, the raw material can’t do its job.

Where protein really helps is keeping you fuller for longer, so you can get through the day without fighting your own brain.

That’s why I don’t guess. I look at your test results, and I’m trained to know what to look for. I’m a pharmacist and ADHD nutrition specialist, and I build plans personalised to each person at Ashleigh Fran.

Save this for the next time someone tells you to “just eat protein.”

You’re not bad at eating. 🤍

If you take ADHD medication, you might recognise this: barely any appetite all day, then the evening hits and you’re standing in front of the cupboard.

That’s not weak willpower. It’s how many ADHD medications work, and most people are never told what to expect. A few small changes can help: eating before the dose kicks in, setting reminders for meals, and having an evening meal planned.

Some amphetamine based medications like Amfexa should be taken 1 hour before or after any acidic foods/drinks.

I’m a pharmacist and ADHD nutrition specialist, and I build plans personalised to each person at Ashleigh Fran.

Save this for the next time you’re mid-snack at 9pm and feeling guilty about it.

If you’ve ever said “I’ll eat when I remember,” this one’s for you.

With ADHD, the problem is rarely that you don’t know what to eat. It’s the executive function layer underneath:

• forgetting meals entirely
• time blindness (it’s 4pm and you haven’t eaten)
• hunger cues that arrive late or not at all
• decision fatigue when you finally do try to eat

That’s why “just eat more protein” or “just meal prep” often falls flat. The fix is a system that takes the thinking out of it: alarms, meals anchored to routines, food you can see, and a short list of go-to options.

This is just a taste of what I look at in your support plan as an ADHD nutritionist Ashleigh Fran

Save this for the next time you realise it’s 3pm and all you’ve had is coffee. 🤍

There’s something a screen just can’t replace 🤍

I love this job for so many reasons, but my favourite part is still the simplest one — being in the same room as someone. Hearing your story properly. Seeing the moment something finally works for you. Sharing a cup of tea while we talk through what’s really going on for you.

So I’m leaning back into in-person work: monthly hormone drop-in groups, workshops delivered with the ADHD Clinical Institute for David Lloyd Clubs members, and yes — 1:1 consultations are still very much on the table too.

If you’ve been following along from behind a screen, consider this your invite to come and meet me properly ✨

Swipe through to see the ways we could work together, and DM me if you’d like to be first to know when the Hormone Drop-In Group goes live 👇

Oestrogen isn’t just a ‘hormone’ — it’s a dopamine driver. 🧠✨ That’s why ADHD symptoms can shift so much across the cycle, perimenopause, and menopause. Support looks different at every stage — that’s what my 4 pillars are built around. Save this for your next low-focus day. 👇

So I’ve been doing a bit of research recently for a new specialist role I’ve taken on (more on that later) and felt I needed to share these!

This is a really interesting and complex area that deserves to be highlighted - I am seeing an increasing number of women being newly diagnosed with ADHD in perimenopause. If you can relate to this, it’s really important that you are asking for the right tests and support as there are so many things you can do to improve outcomes.

You don’t have to do this alone ❤️
