Living alone is expensive enough as it is, so I went through the UK Budget to see what some of the changes could actually mean for those of us paying for an entire household on one income.

There are a few things that could make a difference, from changes to gas standing charges, to the £100 household energy payment, electricity costs and fuel duty.

None of it suddenly makes living alone cheap, obviously 😂 but when every mortgage/rent payment, energy bill, food shop, insurance payment and everything else comes out of one income, even the smaller savings matter.

I’ve broken down the bits I think are most relevant if you live alone in the video 👇

I think I'm going to be single for the rest of my life.
And that’s something I’m only just starting to properly get my head around.

Not in a sad “poor me” way. I’m genuinely happy on my own and I’ve built a life I’m really proud of.

But I think when you’re younger, everyone assumes being single is temporary. People say “you’ll meet someone” or “it’ll happen when you least expect it” like it’s guaranteed.

And the older I get, the more I realise… it isn’t.
I could meet someone next year. I could meet someone in 10 years. Or I might never meet anyone at all. And based on the stats the last one is most likely

And I think that’s quite a strange thing to process when we’re brought up believing that finding a partner is just one of those things that eventually happens to everybody.

I don’t want my life to be on hold waiting for that to happen, so I’ve built one that works without it.
But I’d be lying if I said I never think about the possibility that this might actually be it.

Does anyone else who’s been single for a long time ever think about this?

One thing I’ve gotten much better at over the last few years is keeping a record of how I’m feeling instead of just assuming it’s normal and then completely forgetting about it

I’ve been using Juno to log my symptoms as they happen, so I’ve got a proper record to look back on rather than trying to remember everything weeks later.

Juno can help me spot patterns and possible triggers from what I’ve logged, which I find really useful when my MS symptoms can feel so random day to day.

It’s really easy to use and I normally use the voice note option because it’s just quicker and easier for me.

If you want to start keeping track of your symptoms too, you can try Juno

What else do you think I need?

So ticked a big bucket list item off today and fed giraffes at Paignton Zoo 🥹🦒
Im a huge animal person and its such a surreal experience feeding one of natures kindest and biggest animals

I’ve been trying to say yes to more things and just go and do stuff instead of overthinking it or waiting for someone else to come with me.

And today was a very good example of why we should say yes to more things

Absolutely loved it.
