🩷💙 BABY LOSS AWARENESS WEEK 💙🩷
9th–15th October 🕊️
Some stories are difficult to share because they hold so much of our hearts. This is one of mine. 🤍
I’m an angel mum to four precious babies who we sadly lost during pregnancy. Four little lives that will forever be part of our story, our family and my heart.
This Tuesday marks six years since we lost our beautiful twin girls during pregnancy. Six years since our world changed in a way that words can never fully explain.
Six years of wondering who they would have become, what they would have looked like, and all the little milestones and memories we never got the chance to share with them. 🕊️
I am incredibly blessed to have my beautiful boy and girl here with me. They bring so much love and light into my world, and I will never take the privilege of being their mum for granted.
But there is something I want to say, particularly during this week.
You are allowed to grieve your baby, even when you have living children. 🩷
You are allowed to miss the baby you lost while loving the children you have with every fibre of your being.
You are allowed to feel grateful for your family and still wish your baby was here.
You are allowed to remember them on their anniversary, wonder who they would have become, and feel that ache in your heart that never quite goes away.
Having a child, or even several children, doesn’t erase the loss of another. Your grief doesn’t make you ungrateful, and your love for the children you have doesn’t make you miss your angel babies any less.
Our hearts don’t have to choose between gratitude and grief. There is room for both. 🤍
Reiki first came into my life when my son was just six months old, but it was following the heartbreak of multiple baby losses that my own healing journey really began. In the midst of grief, I found myself drawn towards something that offered me comfort, connection and space to simply be.
I never could have imagined then where that journey would lead me, or that one day I would create Orla Anam, a space where I could offer other women a little time, care and compassion of their own. 🌿✨
I don’t believe we have to find a reason for the losses we experience, or turn our pain into something positive. Some things simply hurt, and some losses stay with us forever.
But I do believe in the importance of making space for our grief, remembering our babies and knowing that we don’t have to carry everything alone.
Baby loss can be an incredibly lonely journey. The world keeps turning, life carries on, and sometimes the people around us don’t realise that we are still carrying our babies in our hearts.
There are dates that stay etched into our souls. There are milestones that bring a fresh wave of sadness. And there is a love that never disappears, no matter how much time passes.
This week is about breaking the silence, remembering our babies, acknowledging our grief and reminding every family who has experienced loss that they are not alone.
To every angel mum, angel dad and family who carries the loss of a precious little soul, I see you. Your babies matter. Your grief matters. And you never have to justify the love you carry or the sadness you feel. 🩷💙
🤍 If you feel comfortable, I’d love for you to share a little about your baby in the comments.
Their name, your story, a memory, or simply a little heart to let us know you’re remembering them.
You don’t have to share anything you’re not ready to, but please know that your baby is welcome here. 🕊️
Every baby has a story. Every baby deserves to be remembered.
And to my four little angels, you are loved beyond words, remembered always and forever part of our family. 🌙✨
Six years, a lifetime of love, and a place in my heart that will always belong to you.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our babies. 🩷💙
