We have introduced The Shed, a brilliant space for residents who enjoy getting creative and making things. Pete, our maintenance man, is always on hand to help bring their ideas to life!

From making bird boxes and bug hotels to getting creative with new projects, there’s always something going on. We’ve even heard that some creations might be making their way to our festive fayre! At the moment, everyone is busy getting a brand-new sign ready for the front of the house. We can’t wait to see the finished result!

We’ve also enjoyed a lovely trip to Saunders this week. It was wonderful to see our old piano taking pride of place, and everyone had great fun choosing their favourite Christmas decorations to pose for a photo with. We rounded off the afternoon with a delicious afternoon tea, complete with china cups and saucers and homemade cake.

On our return, everyone was chatting about what a lovely time they’d had. It’s days like these that make such special memories!

Another busy week at Beaufort House!

Our art group got creative making birthday cards using leaf art, and we were so impressed with the lovely results! One of the biggest highlights of the week was a very special cuddle with a great-great-grandson. 🥰

We also enjoyed a good old singalong when James came to visit, along with plenty of bingo, word games and quizzes to keep our minds active.

We headed out to Weston-super-Mare to see how work is progressing on Birnbeck Pier. Everyone was delighted to see it coming along, and we're looking forward to visiting when it opens. What a lovely walk that will be! We finished our trip with a scenic drive along Kewstoke and Sand Bay.

We're already looking forward to another full week of fun, activities and special moments at Beaufort House!

A lovely afternoon out at Beaufort House!

Our residents enjoyed a trip to Greatwood Camp, a place some remembered visiting as children with their school. We then headed to Crowcombe, where we took in the beautiful views, spotted horses and sheep, and stopped for a snack while enjoying the blue skies and sharing memories.

Back at Beaufort House, Graham entertained everyone with his guitar and some good old favourites, including Elvis rock ’n’ roll, which certainly got toes tapping! We also enjoyed some creative time with our stained-glass painting group.

There’s always something to get involved in, and everyone is welcome to join in with our activities.

A little community project! We’re hoping to get a raised bed in Burnham-on-Sea’s community garden, and two of our residents are already ready to get planting! Fingers crossed we can make it happen. If anyone has some spare timber they’d be happy to donate to help us build it, please get in touch.

World Mental Health Day 2026

This year's World Mental Health Day theme is 'Lived experiences: real voices, real change.' It's a reminder that every voice matters and that understanding someone's experiences is an important part of providing the right support.

At Agincare, we know that care is about more than meeting someone's needs. It's about getting to know the person, understanding what matters to them and making sure they feel heard, valued and supported.

We provide specialist mental health care both at home and in our care homes, supporting people with individual needs to live well and as independently as possible. We understand the importance of listening to each person, respecting their experiences and providing support that works for them.

With a 5,500 strong workforce supporting people across 200 locations, the wellbeing and happiness of our teams will also be a priority too. We continue to invest in resources and support to help our colleagues look after their mental health, recognising the importance of caring for those who care for others.

Let's keep checking in with each other, taking the time to listen and offering support when it's needed.

There’s been plenty going on recently, with our residents enjoying trips out, fundraising and getting stuck into our Shed Club!

We enjoyed a lovely trip to Saunders, where we had a look around, enjoyed a chat and, of course, a cuppa together. It was a lovely opportunity to get out and about and enjoy some time together.

We’re also delighted to have raised £190 for Breast Cancer Research through our coffee morning and Dolly Parton Day. We also donated books to the children who visit the home, following Dolly’s wonderful example of sharing books with children.

Our Shed Club is coming along brilliantly too! After making bug boxes, over the past couple of weeks we’ve been busy putting up new bird boxes in the trees around our beautiful garden, ready for the winter months.

Of course, Bernie was in charge of deciding exactly where the bird boxes needed to go, while Pete had the important job of securing them safely to the trees!

A fantastic team effort all round!

Another fantastic few days at Beaufort House!

We’ve had a wonderful few days filled with music, singing, family and lots of fun! On Saturday, we held our Breast Cancer Coffee Morning, which was a brilliant success. It was lovely to see so many families come along and show their support.

On Monday, we welcomed Mr Tippy Toes himself, Nigel! He had everyone singing along, tapping their toes and enjoying the music. What a fantastic afternoon! Tuesday was Dolly Day, with the team wearing Dolly T-shirts or something pink. Our senior care worker, Charlie, also treated us to her amazing voice and soon had our residents up and singing along with her!

We also made donations towards the Breast Cancer Coffee Morning, and Natasha has bought some lovely books for families and their children, a thoughtful gesture inspired by Dolly.

When the horses came to Beaufort! 🐎

Last week, we were delighted to welcome two beautiful horses, Sapphire and Ruby, to Beaufort House!

Sapphire belongs to Dawn, whose daughter brought her friend and her horse Ruby along for a special visit. Our residents loved meeting them, with Rachel preparing plenty of carrots and apples for everyone to feed them. Needless to say, Sapphire and Ruby were very happy with all the attention - especially the treats! 🥕🍎

The visit also brought back some wonderful memories for our residents. One gentleman remembered riding his grandad’s horses as they ploughed the fields ready for planting, while another resident remembered having her own horse and riding every day.

It was a lovely afternoon filled with smiles, stories and a few very happy horses!
