The tattoo industry is being let down.
Untrained and unlicensed artists are flooding the industry. Equipment is too easy to buy with no checks. Some councils are handing out licences without proper knowledge or inspections.
This puts clients at risk of infections, scarring and blood-borne viruses — and it damages trust in the legitimate artists and studios who do things properly.
We’re calling for stronger regulation:
• Proven training & experience before licensing
• Proper council checks
• Licence numbers required to buy professional stock
• Separate licences for tattooing, semi-permanent makeup, piercing & medical work
• Better clinical waste controls
If you’re a tattoo artist, shop owner, collector or just someone who cares about the industry’s future — please sign and share.
