Introducing the BARDOC Student Ambassador Programme!

Today, we visited Bury College to meet students who have applied to become our first Student Ambassadors.

The programme will give young people a voice in shaping health and wellbeing messages for their peers, helping us better understand what matters to students.

Our ambassadors will work with BARDOC to develop health and wellbeing campaigns, share reliable information and offer ideas about how services can better engage with young people. Along the way, they’ll build confidence, communication and teamwork skills.

The students did an amazing job in their group and individual interviews, showing enthusiasm, creativity and a real willingness to support others. They should all be proud of themselves!

Thank you to Bury College for welcoming us and to everyone who took part. We’re looking forward to taking the next steps together!

Congratulations, Michelle!

We’re delighted that Michelle, a member of our team at Rock Healthcare, one of our practices, has been shortlisted for HCP of the Year at the MBChB Community Team’s inaugural Community Celebration Event!

The event recognises the hard work, commitment and achievements of community placement providers who support medical students throughout their learning.

Michelle’s shortlisting is a wonderful recognition of her dedication to supporting students and helping develop the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Michelle said: “I’m delighted to have been shortlisted. Supporting medical students and seeing their confidence grow is such a rewarding part of my role.”

Well done, Michelle - we’re proud to have you as part of the BARDOC team.

30 years of BARDOC. One unforgettable evening.

This weekend, colleagues, partners and guests came together to mark BARDOC’s 30th anniversary and celebrate the people who have been part of our journey.

The evening gave us a chance to reflect on three decades of caring for communities across Greater Manchester. We shared memories, recognised the dedication of colleagues and teams through our celebration awards, and looked ahead to the next chapter.

Since 1996, BARDOC has grown and changed, but our purpose has remained the same: being there for people when they need care. That has been possible because of the commitment of our clinical, operational and support teams, past and present.

It was wonderful to celebrate alongside the partners and guests who have supported us over the years. Thank you to everyone who joined us, helped make the evening possible, or has contributed to BARDOC’s story.

We are proud of what we have achieved together and excited for what comes next.

Walking together for a great cause!

Team BARDOC was proud to take part in the Supporting Sisters sponsored walk - bringing people together, raising awareness and supporting the incredible work they do within our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who walked, donated and supported the event. It was a fantastic day filled with teamwork, encouragement and community spirit!

Last week BARDOC visited Tottington High School to deliver an interactive session supporting students with their Health and Social Care coursework.

The session explored public health challenges, including obesity and sexual health, and encouraged students to think about the barriers people face when trying to improve their health and wellbeing. Students also took part in activities focused on health campaigns, myth-busting, healthy lifestyle choices and creating their own public health initiatives.

It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, creativity and engagement from the students throughout the session. We hope the session helped bring their assignment to life and provided valuable insight into the role healthcare organisations play in improving community health.

A huge thank you to the staff and students at Tottington High School for making us feel so welcome. We look forward to working together again in the future.

Warning: Wedding Fever Has Hit BARDOC!

We're delighted to announce that our lovely Kate is finally off the market!

To celebrate her upcoming wedding, we couldn't resist embarrassing her just a little at work with a special photo opportunity. After all, it's only fair considering how much she's made the rest of us smile over the years.

Enjoy every minute of your special day.

Congratulations, Kate! Love from all your friends and colleagues at BARDOC

Earlier this year, BARDOC's Healthy Hero Competition brought together schools, pupils, families, and community partners across our local communities to promote healthy lifestyles in a fun and creative way.

This highlights video showcases some of the fantastic entries, community support, and collaboration that helped make the initiative such a success.

At BARDOC, we remain committed to working with young people, schools, and community organisations to promote healthier futures and improve health awareness from an early age.

We were delighted to deliver the Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment (RQF) course at Bardoc in May.

A huge thank you to the team for such positive feedback following Geoff’s session. It’s fantastic to hear that the training was informative, engaging and easy to follow, with practical examples that helped bring risk assessment principles to life in a workplace context.

By the end of the session, learners felt more confident in understanding workplace hazards, legislation and the process involved in supporting and carrying out effective risk assessments.

Well done to everyone who took part.

🎬 A Day in the Life of Work Experience at BARDOC

This week, we're delighted to welcome Laaibah to BARDOC for her work experience placement.

Over the course of her placement, Laaibah has been meeting teams from across the organisation, learning about different healthcare roles, observing services in action, and gaining an insight into how we support patients and communities across Bury, Bolton, Rochdale, Heywood and Middleton.

As part of her placement, Laaibah has also been involved in creating this fantastic video, showcasing her experience.

We're incredibly impressed by her enthusiasm, creativity, and willingness to get involved, and we're looking forward to seeing what she achieves during the rest of her time with us.

Well done, Laaibah! 👏
