Claire Nutrition Coach I help women over 40 who are struggling to lose weight due to yoyo dieting or hormonal changes.

23/10/2026

I speak to so many women who want to make a change but feel hesitant about
investing in themselves.

And often, underneath that hesitation is fear.

Fear of wasting money.

Fear of failing again.

Fear of being hungry.

Fear of giving up foods they enjoy.

Fear that they’ll put the effort in and still not get the results they want.

And sometimes, it’s simply a lack of trust.

You’ve probably tried diets before that promised the world and left you feeling disappointed.

So why would this time be any different?

You might also be telling yourself:

🛑 “I’ll start after my holiday.”
🛑 “Things are too busy at the moment.”
🛑 “I need to get myself in the right mindset first.”
🛑 “What if I join and I’m the one person it doesn’t work for?”
🛑 “You’re a stranger I’ve met on the internet. How do I know I can trust you?”

And do you know what?

Those thoughts are completely understandable.

I can show you how I work.

I can share client results and testimonials.

I can explain exactly what you’ll get from working with me.

I can reassure you when you’re worried and support you when things feel difficult.

But I can’t remove all of the uncertainty for you.

At some point, you have to decide that you’re going to give yourself a chance.

Because my clients aren’t successful because they were never scared.

They’re successful because they took action even when they were scared.

They didn’t wait until life was perfect.

They didn’t suddenly become incredibly motivated.

They just decided that staying where they were was no longer what they wanted.

And perhaps that’s the decision you need to make too.

You are worth investing in.

You are worth taking care of.

And you don’t have to feel 100% confident before you start.

You just need to be willing to take the first step.

I currently have 3 spaces available for women who want 1-2-1 support with my 12 week coaching programme.

If you’d like to find out more, DM me “INFO” and we can have a chat to see if I’m the right person to help you.

Recently, I stumbled upon a discussion on Instagram where a doctor questioned whether walking qualifies as exercise.

While I believe her intention was to emphasise the importance of strength training alongside walking, I couldn't agree more.

Problem is, not everyone can strength train or wants to.

I understand, if someone is overweight the thought of doing exercise can be intimidating, uncomfortable or painful.

So while I agree that for optimal health, we need to be walking, strength training, eating lots of wholefoods etc....for some people it's not realistic and they can feel disheartened hearing the message that "walking isn't exercise".

So the good news is that walking definitely IS exercise.

I wanted to send a positive and motivational message to anyone who is struggling with their health that you can get HUGE benefits by walking each day.

In my blog, I cover research studies that show you how hitting a certain step count based on your age can reduce your risk of dying young and how increasing steps can reduce your risk of fatty liver disease, heart disease and certain cancers.

Also, I’ve shown a study on how timing of your walks can be really beneficial in helping blood sugar levels, great if you are pre-diabetic or diabetic.

A little reminder that even as a PT and Nutrition Coach, my own training doesn't always go to plan. And that's OK.

I was doing really well with my training recently until I went on a cruise and came home with a bug. I'm pretty sure it was COVID.

I had no energy, felt rubbish and ended up missing a month of training.

When I eventually got back to it, I couldn't lift what I'd been lifting before, so I had to build back up again.

I got into a routine for a few weeks, then perimenopause decided to throw another spanner in the works.

A 17 day bleed, followed by 10 days of progesterone and some pretty horrendous PMT, meant I had very little energy to train again.

And now I'm building back up again.

Could I beat myself up about all the training I've missed? Yes, but what's the point?

I can't control getting ill or what's going on with my hormones. I can only work with what I've got and do what I can when I'm feeling better.

It's the same with my clients. Life gets in the way, things don't always go to plan and sometimes you have to adjust your expectations.

That doesn't mean you've failed or that all your previous efforts have gone to waste.

You might need to take a step back, reduce what you're doing or build things back up gradually.

Life is going to get in the way sometimes.

That doesn't mean you've failed or that you've lost all your progress.

Deal with what's in front of you, then get back to doing what you can.

Do you ever fall into the trap of thinking that if you can't do everything, there's no point doing anything?

I'm quite a private person and don't tend to share that much about myself. Unless I know someone really well, it takes me a while to open up.

But I know that probably needs to change a bit, especially when I run an online business and people don't necessarily know the person behind it!

So I thought I'd share a few things about me that you might not know.

I'm Claire, I'm 45 and I've lived in the South Wales Valleys all my life.

Although Devon feels like a second home. My sister and I share a caravan down there and we've been going back and forth for over 20 years.

Speaking of my sister, I'm a twin and she's my best friend. We can argue and bicker one minute and be best mates again five minutes later. 😂

I don't have children of my own, but I do have a niece who I absolutely love spending time with.

I've always enjoyed sport and played football for around 10 years before eventually falling out of love with it.

I also love travelling and have been on around 8 or 9 cruises so far. There's something lovely about visiting different places, exploring somewhere new and having your next destination to look forward to.

I've got a degree and a Master's in sport, but honestly, one of my proudest academic achievements is getting a B in Maths. I still can't add for s**t though. 😂

And finally, I once had a midlife crisis and bleached my hair. I absolutely loved it. My hair, on the other hand, had other ideas!

So that's a little bit about me outside of nutrition coaching.

I'll share more about how I ended up doing what I do, and how my own health journey has changed the way I look at fitness and nutrition, in some separate posts.

But for now, tell me something about you.

Are you a fellow tea drinker, a sports lover, a cruise fan or someone who also has a questionable history of hair decisions? 😂

You don't need to overhaul your life to become healthier.

You don't need to change your entire diet, spend hours in the gym or suddenly start walking 10,000 steps a day.

Start small.

Add some protein and fibre to one meal.

Go for a walk, even if it's only 10 minutes.

Build on those small changes over time.

You don't have to do everything at once. You just have to start somewhere.

What's one small change you could make today?

What if eating more food could actually make losing weight easier?

Not because more food magically burns fat.

But because the right foods can give you more food for your calories, help you feel fuller and make a calorie deficit much easier to stick to.

One of the biggest things I look at with my clients is fibre (and protein).

In the UK, we're recommended to eat at least 30g of fibre a day.

But only around 4% of adults are actually hitting that target.

And if you're trying to lose weight, fibre can be really useful.

And the research suggests that higher fibre intake is associated with greater weight loss and better adherence to a calorie restricted diet.

Losing weight isn't about eating as little as possible.

It's about finding the highest amount of food you can eat while still maintaining a calorie deficit.

That's a very different approach.

I've written a new blog explaining how fibre can help with weight loss, how much you actually need, which foods are highest in fibre and how to increase your intake without completely changing your diet.

This client took part in my first group coaching programme a few years ago.

She kindly agreed to let me share her before and after photos, and she lost 6lb in 6 weeks.

That’s a significant amount of weight to lose in 6 weeks, and you can see the difference in her photos.

And she achieved this without having to resort to working out 6 times a week or starving herself.

I teach my clients how to lose body fat, not just weight, so there are a few key things we focus on to help them get results without extreme dieting.

I’ve recently extended my group coaching programme from 6 weeks to 8 weeks for the same price.

That means 8 weeks of coaching for £299, giving you more time to put what you learn into practice and build habits that work around your life.

Want to find out more? Send me a message and I’ll tell you how it works.

If you’ve asked yourself why can’t I lose weight, then you’ve probably had a history of yoyo dieting, tried every diet under the sun, and are feeling really confused about what to do next.

If your belief in your ability to lose weight is at rock bottom, I’m here to tell you that I’ve helped women in exactly your situation.

When I created this guide, I asked myself this:

Where were my clients going wrong before they started working with me?

What are they doing now that has enabled them to lose weight and keep it off?

This guide will tell you exactly what that is.

I’ve given you my 5 top tips that you can start implementing straight away if fat loss is your goal.
