This is one of the first video's we posted... I never realised it then, and considering this was a " good day " look how poorly he looked. Thankfully Jensen's platelets are in range now so less bruising & bleeding. And yes, he did need platelets that day...thank you to all donors for donating their platelets & blood! You helped keep Jensen alive for his treatment that was to follow. What an incredible little man.

🩸 A little reminder of why I started Jensen’s Story…

Over the next few days, I’m going to share some old photos and videos from Jensen’s journey. Some are lovely to look back on, but others… honestly, they’re hard.

For those of you who have been here from the beginning, you’ll remember some of these moments. And for those who are newer here, I wanted to share a little reminder of why I started this page and why it’s always been so important to me to share the reality of what we went through. What other families go through.

Jensen’s diagnosis of Severe Aplastic Anaemia in April 2025 turned our world upside down. The hospital stays, transfusions, chemotherapy, transplant, fear and uncertainty became our everyday life. Jensen went through so much, and Ben and I were just trying to get through it all and get our little boy better.

I’ve been watching some of these old videos back recently, and honestly, some have had me close to tears or actually crying. I think when you’re in the middle of it all, you just get on with what you have to do. You don’t really have time to stop and process it because you’re too busy trying to get through each day.

Now the storm has passed, I think I’m finally starting to process just how much we all went through. Watching these videos back is emotional in a way I wasn’t expecting.

And this is exactly why I started Jensen’s Story. I wanted to share the good, the bad and the ugly. Not just the positive updates and milestones, but the raw, real side of it all. The bits people don’t always see.

Jensen is doing so well now, and we’re so grateful to be where we are today. But I never want to forget what he went through, or what it took for us to get here.

Whether you’ve followed us from the beginning or have only recently found us, thank you for being here and being part of our journey. 🫶🏻

We’ve had the loveliest donation of £50 towards our little toy appeal for C2 & PDU, and I just wanted to say a huge thank you. 🥹🫶🏻

We’ll be using it to buy some lovely toys for our collection, which will be given to the children currently on the two wards that supported Jensen and continue to support him today at Addenbrookes ❤️

This lovely lady has also donated some gorgeous gifts for our bingo night! I haven’t mentioned her name as I know she’s a private person, but I really wanted to give her a little public thank you. Her kindness means so much to us. 🥹🫶🏻

These first 2 photos mean so much to us.

The first photo is of the amazing staff from Addenbrooke’s, and the second is of the amazing staff from Kings Lynn who have all played a part in Jensen’s journey.

Every single person standing in these photos has helped get Jensen to where he is today. It’s been one hell of a journey, with so many ups and downs, and behind it all have been the people who have cared for him and helped us through some of the hardest times of our lives.

Although we have had our challenges along the way with our local paediatric ward, I want to recognise the staff standing in this photo, who have always been amazing with Jensen. They have continued to show professionalism, kindness and care throughout his journey, and it's important to us that this is recognised.

It hasn't always been an easy road, but these photos are a reminder of the people who have been there for Jensen along the way. Every single one has played their own part in his story, and that will always mean so much to us.

As parents, handing over your child and trusting other people to care for them is never easy, especially when they're so poorly, but these people have been part of our story, through the scary days, the setbacks and the milestones that once felt so far away.

We will never forget the people who have helped us through this chapter of our lives. Every single one of you has played a part in Jensen's journey, and we are so grateful to have had you in his corner.

It really does take a team, and Jensen has had some amazing people in his corner. ❤️

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping our boy get to where he is today. We are grateful 🙏🏻

The Aplastic Anaemia Trust recently consulted with more than twenty aplastic anaemia and PNH patients and their family members to find out what they thought we should include in our upcoming nurses' training module.

We are so grateful to all the volunteers who took part in the online meeting, arranged to meet with Ellie, or completed a consultation form. Your comments, ideas, stories and suggestions will help nurses to understand what aplastic anaemia and PNH patients need and how to provide the best possible care. Thank you so much for supporting this project.

We have collated all the feedback into a report which you can read here: https://canva.link/ai1xxreggrnto91

(This report has been produced as part of our project to create a nurses’ training module. This project has been funded by Alexion AstraZeneca, Novartis, and Kavita Agarwal and Asit Gupta.

Industry funders have had no input into our consultation process, the content of this report or this presentation.)

Today, Jensen is having lunch at school!

He hasn't had lunch at school for 1 year & 6 months!! Yup! A very long time!

He was super excited to take his Minecraft lunchbox with him, that his Auntie Sami Jackets got him for his 7th birthday. He can finally use it!! 🫶🏻

Jensen is smashing this school stuff 👊🏻👏🏻🙌🏻 so proud!

Socially is something we need to work on.... but he was isolated for over a year, so i think he is allowed to have that struggle, bless him & he will get there! 🙂

Keep going my boy! 🥰 you've totally got this!

Terri xx
