What does Adaptive Hyrox look like? I compete in seated with hip function. There's different weights and distances for each adaptive category, but wherever you compete, it's always the same standards.
I wasn't able to get video footage at all stations (there's 8 in total), but here's a few.

Hyrox Cardiff had a big problem for wheelchair users 😔

I arrived aiming for a PB. When I saw the flooring I realised that might be a problem. when I started the race, it was instantly apparent that this was going to be extra tough!! Usually I really enjoy the running, but the constant vibrations were awful! every push barely got me anywhere. the corners I would usually whizz round, but on this flooring, as soon as you stopped pushing you just stopped! I normally fall into a nice rhythm of strong pushes, with recovery between, but that just doesn't work on uneven, bumpy flooring! It also moved up and down as you rolled along it 🙈
If you're a wheelchair user, I would recommend checking the flooring at this venue next year before booking.

Seated skipping workouts are really fun and are a great option for cardio fitness. They also support shoulder stability as they challenge all areas around your shoulder.

You can buy various weighted versions if you want to. The ones in this video are just light ones, but still give a great workout. Put some music on and mix up some of the movements shown here. There's lots of others you can explore too.

Make shift indoor wheelchair fitness trainer / treadmill! It works really well and it hardly takes up any storage space!!
Whether you want to build your cardiovascular fitness, lose weight, build your technique or train for a marathon - this is perfect!

Although I didn't do any specific training (I only signed up 3 days before!!), my gym training at has definitely paid off! 17 minutes off my previous PB 😁
Amazing atmosphere, great community and encouragement from all the people at the event today.
