📣📣This Mon 19th Oct, we will have our second seasonal vaccine clinic from 2pm until 4.30pm

**The Dispensary will be open Mon 9am-1pm and reopen 4.30-5.30pm**

**Change of dispensary opening hours next Mon and Tue , and Practice closure on Tue for staff training **

📣📣Mon 5th Oct we will have a flu clinic on until 4.30pm (therefore the dispensary cannot open )

**On Monday ,The Dispensary will be open Mon 9am-1pm and reopen 4.30-5.30pm**

📣📣 Tue 6th Oct - the surgery will be closed in the afternoon for staff training and emergency GP cover will be provided from 1pm until 6pm by the GP Out of hours service on 028 3839 9201

**On Tuesday, The Dispensary will be open 9am-12.45pm **

The Dispensary will resume normal hours for the rest of the week

On behalf of all the staff and patients of Ballyward we want to say a big thank you to Dr Turner our Registrar who completed her training and who finishes with us today .
We’d like to express our thanks for all her patience kindness and warmth and wish her well in her future endeavours as she returns home to England.

Flu clinics 2026

We are running Drive Thru flu clinics on

Mon 5th Oct afternoon

Mon 19th Oct afternoon

And
Mon 2nd Nov afternoon

** If you are in the eligible groups you can now phone to book into these clinics**

Please note these are for FLU vaccines only at present ; when the Covid vaccine becomes available we will inform patients who are eligible

📣 Flu vaccination programme 2026

The first groups to be called this year are pregnant patients (standard vaccine) and children (nasal flu vaccine).

📣 Flu clinic for pregnant patients (at any stage of pregnancy ) is Monday 21st Sept 10-11.30 am. Known patients have already been texted but if you have not already been contacted and you are a pregnant patient wishing to avail of the flu vaccine , please contact the surgery reception to book a slot .

📣 Parent/guardians of eligible children will receive invitations by text to attend for Nasal flu vaccines on Mon 21st and Tue 22nd Sept .
If the time allocated does not suit or you do not wish to avail of the vaccine , please make contact with reception.

📣 August Holiday closure

The GP surgery will be closed Monday 31st August and reopen as normal on Tue 1st September.

For clinically urgent matters where patients feel they need to speak to a GP before we reopen , please phone the Out of hours service on 028 3839 9201

📣 Reminder to be kind and respectful when using our service as our staff are under continued severe pressures which is reflective of the health service in general at present .

We recognise that the vast majority of patients are kind and understanding.

Unfortunately we have seen a recent increase in verbal abuse and we must remind everyone that we have a zero tolerance policy on abusive behaviour towards our staff . Abusive behaviour, including verbally abusive language to staff may result in the patient being removed from our practice list.
