Across hundreds of complex installs, CareSpaces has found that rework is usually linked to details missed in the first 2 weeks.

Ceiling height, ceiling construction, fixing points, contractor review, site survey notes, and handover details all affect whether an install can move forward without changes during the build.

Go through the slides to see what we keep finding.

When there are multiple suppliers in a project, a misalignment in timelines is not uncommon. It usually starts at the handover points, where one supplier's responsibility ends and another's begins.

Carespaces has been involved in projects where a ceiling track hoist was specified before the space had been checked in detail.

At first, the equipment can appear suitable. The layout may look workable, and the referral may be ready to move forward. Once the room is checked, issues can appear with ceiling height, structure, track route, or building restrictions.

These constraints affect whether the hoist can be installed safely and whether it will meet the client’s transfer needs.

When a job involves multiple suppliers, delays often happen between each stage.

One supplier may be waiting for confirmation. Another may be working from slightly different measurements. The contractor may be trying to keep the job moving without the full information.

Hence, the issue is not always the work itself.

It could be the handover, the detail that was overlooked, or the update that was not shared at the right time.

This is why coordination matters before the work starts.

Where does this usually slow down for you?

Yesterday was Changing Places Awareness Day.

For a family with a disabled child or family member, a day out often comes down to one thing: is there somewhere safe to change them. That one room is the difference between a two-hour visit and a full day out.

We've installed Changing Places facilities in venues across the UK. Today's a good day to celebrate every venue that's made that choice.
