Fertility-Fit Specialist Midwife supporting women 35+ with unexplained infertility and recurrent miscarriage to achieve a pregnancy

Trying to conceive?

09/10/2026

Another period arrives and you're back in the same cycle.

Trying again. Hoping this time will be different. But nothing about your approach has actually changed because no one's told you what to change.

You've been handed the same advice every time: take folic acid, eat well, reduce stress, keep trying. But if that worked, you wouldn't still be here.

I'm Claire, a midwife specialising in pregnancy after miscarriage, and I'm running a free 2-day masterclass with pregnancy loss grief coach Annika Palmer for women over 35 experiencing recurrent loss.

Day 1: Recognising and holding the grief without letting it run your life. Day 2: Understanding what's actually associated with miscarriage, what your body is telling you, and your priority starting point for preparing the body for pregnancy.

This isn't another generic protocol. This is about looking at the whole picture, your cycle, your symptoms, your body's actual signals, so you can stop guessing and start addressing what's really happening.

You're getting pregnant. You're just not staying pregnant.

And every time it happens, you're back on Google at 2am, adding another supplement to the basket, reading conflicting advice about what you should've done differently.

The truth? Your body has been trying to tell you what's wrong the whole time. You just haven't had anyone connecting the dots.

Join me and pregnancy loss grief coach Annika Palmer for a free 2-day masterclass where we're looking at the whole picture, the grief no one prepares you for, and what your body is actually telling you about why your pregnancies aren't holding.

Day 1: How to hold the grief without it holding you hostage. Day 2: What your body's been trying to tell you, and where to start preparing for the next pregnancy.

This is for women over 35 experiencing recurrent miscarriage who are done spinning and ready to understand what's actually happening.

I'm a midwife who loves problem solving, teaching and raising awareness.

I also love Saturday brunches, going out out, and a proper summer holiday. ☀️

The two aren't separate.

The work I do with women isn't something I switch on at nine and off at five. I think about it at the gym, solve problems in my head on date nights, and whenever I learn something new, I wonder how it could help the women I work with.

Because so many of them are left with questions nobody is answering.

They've experienced recurrent pregnancy loss. They've been told their bloods are normal, handed folic acid and told to "keep trying."

But what can I actually do differently before I try again?

They're left wondering whether their body can hold a pregnancy. Whether something's been missed. Whether trying again means preparing to lose again.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲.

These women deserve more than hope and folic acid. They deserve someone who'll look at the whole picture, help them understand where to start and support them in preparing their body for pregnancy.

But preparing the body is only half of it.

The other half is what recurrent loss does to your head. The fear of trying again. The grief you carry before anything has even happened.

I'll be talking about preparing and supporting your body for pregnancy after recurrent loss. Not generic advice, but understanding the whole picture and where to start.

Because you deserve support for both your body and your mind.

You'd think wanting another baby would feel hopeful and optimistic.

And sometimes it does. But after recurrent loss, that hope rarely turns up on its own. It brings fear with it. The two of them co-exist so the very thought of trying again makes your stomach drop before anything has even happened.

You start grieving the next loss before you've allowed yourself to want the next pregnancy. You brace yourself, holding your breath through a cycle you haven't even started yet.

That's not you being negative, or you jinxing it. That's anticipatory grief, and after what you've already been through, it makes complete sense that your body and your mind are trying to protect you from going through it again.

Nobody really prepares you for this part. Everyone talks about the losses themselves. Very few people talk about what it does to the woman who wants to try again and is quietly carrying the fear of what might happen if she does.

So we've put together something for you. A free two-day masterclass, with two women who sit on either side of this with you.

On 27 October at 7pm, Annika, an accredited grief coach specialising in pregnancy and infant loss, opens up an honest conversation about the anticipatory grief, the fear, and the emotions that come with thinking about trying again after recurrent loss.

On 28 October at 7pm, Claire, a registered midwife, talks through how you can actually support and prepare your body for pregnancy after recurrent loss, so that if and when you're ready, you're not just hoping.

The emotional side and the physical side. Held together, because that's how you're carrying it.

Each session is about an hour. Both are free.

They've checked your progesterone. They've scanned your uterus. They've told you your bloods are normal. And you're still losing pregnancies.

So here's what I'd want to know instead.

Are you actually ovulating, or are you having anovulatory cycles that look like periods but aren't releasing an egg? Because if you're not ovulating properly, the hormonal signalling for implantation and early pregnancy support isn't there.

What's your ferritin sitting at? Not your haemoglobin, your ferritin. Because if it's under 50, your thyroid can't convert properly, your mitochondria can't produce energy efficiently, and your endometrium struggles to build the environment a pregnancy needs.

How's your gut? Are you bloated, constipated, or dealing with diarrhoea most days? Because if your gut lining is compromised, you're not absorbing the nutrients you're eating, you're creating systemic inflammation, and your immune system is on high alert, which affects implantation.

What about him? Has anyone actually looked at his s***m properly, not just count and motility, but DNA fragmentation? Because poor s***m quality doesn't just affect conception, it affects whether the embryo has enough integrity to keep developing past six weeks.

These aren't the questions you get asked in a standard appointment.

But they're the questions that reveal why pregnancies aren't holding when everything supposedly looks fine.

Your body isn't broken. The picture is incomplete.

In the masterclass, I walk you through the whole ecosystem, what's actually affecting implantation, early development, and miscarriage risk, so you're not guessing anymore.

You've read every ingredient label. Compared the methylated folate to the folic acid. Bought the one with the better absorption, the higher reviews, the influencer everyone trusts.

And when the last cycle didn't hold, you did the thing that felt like doing something. You ordered a new one.

I understand it completely. When you're grieving and terrified and desperate to try again, a supplement is the one thing you can control. Add it to basket. Tell yourself this is the one.

But here's what nobody's saying to you. A pregnancy doesn't hold on a pill. It holds on the whole environment your body is running.

You can take all the vitamin D and folic acid you like. If you're running on five broken hours of sleep, living at the edge of your stress, eating on the go between everything else you're carrying, and his s***m hasn't been properly looked at either, then no supplement in the world is going to out-run all of that. You can't out-supplement the environment.

And the reason this matters so much is that every month you spend swapping one bottle for another is a month nobody's looking at the thing that's actually undermining you. The prenatal becomes the whole plan. One variable, endlessly changed, while everything around it goes unexamined.

Your body isn't broken. It's been given a checklist when what it needed was for someone to look at the whole picture and find the real place to start.

That's exactly what I'm walking through on my 2-day masterclass. If you're ready to stop guessing at bottles and start understanding what your body actually needs, come and join me.

Because normal bloods don't tell you whether your body is actually creating the right environment for a pregnancy to hold.

They tell you your FSH is under 10 and your AMH hasn't crashed. They tell you your thyroid is in range and your progesterone on Day 21 suggests you ovulated.

They don't tell you if your ferritin is too low for proper thyroid conversion. They don't tell you if your gut is inflamed and driving immune dysregulation. They don't tell you if your liver is struggling to clear excess oestrogen. They don't tell you if your cortisol is spiking all night and preventing deep sleep. They don't tell you if his s***m DNA is fragmented.

And they don't tell you whether your cycle is truly ovulatory or just bleeding without releasing an egg, because a Day 21 progesterone can look fine even when the egg quality and luteal phase aren't supporting implantation properly.

Standard care checks the parts. It doesn't connect the systems.

So you're sent away with folic acid and the advice to keep trying, when the real problem is that no one has looked at your body as a whole.

Your eggs aren't the problem. They're the outcome of the systemic problem.

Egg maturation depends on hormonal signalling. Implantation depends on endometrial receptivity. Early pregnancy depends on nutrient status, immune balance, and whether your body has the resources to sustain it. And all of that depends on whether your gut, liver, thyroid, adrenals, and blood sugar regulation are actually working together.

That's the picture we build in the masterclass, so you're not trying again on hope. You're building the foundation a pregnancy can actually hold.

You've started counting down how many cycles you have left before you turn 40. Because once you hit 40, your eggs will be old and dodgy too. At least, that's what you've been told.

You've had three miscarriages. Maybe four. The EPU staff know you by now. After your last scan, they said "We're sorry. Just keep trying. We'll see you in your next pregnancy." You realised you know their number off by heart. The same midwife has cared for you twice before.

Here's what no one is telling you: your age isn't the problem. Your eggs aren't the problem. The fact that you keep losing pregnancies is the signal that something specific in your body needs addressing, and "keep trying" isn't a treatment plan.

When I work with women over 35 who've had recurrent miscarriages, I'm not managing age. I'm investigating why your body isn't holding the pregnancy. Inflammation. Cortisol. Micronutrients. Gut health. The things a standard panel doesn't measure but absolutely affect whether a pregnancy stays.

You don't need to keep trying. You need someone to look at why it's not working.

You carried your first baby to term. No complications. Then three early losses in a row. And every test keeps coming back to progesterone.

Your body proved it could carry a pregnancy. The progesterone explanation feels logical, but if that were the whole story, supplementing it would have worked by now.

When I see a woman who’s carried one baby without issue and then lost multiple pregnancies after, I’m not looking at hormones first. I’m looking at what changed.

Systemic inflammation. Cortisol control. Micronutrients.

The things that don’t show up on a standard hormone panel but absolutely affect whether a pregnancy holds.

Your body didn’t forget how to be pregnant. Something shifted. And treating the wrong thing, even if the treatment is evidence-based, won’t bring you closer to holding your baby.

If you’ve been told it’s progesterone and you’re still losing pregnancies, it’s time to look at what the tests aren’t measuring.

Your friends think you’re coping really well.

And you are.

You’re back at work. You’re showing up. You’re getting on with it.

What they don’t see is that you’re holding hundreds of tiny unresolved decisions in your head every single day.

Should I book the appointment or wait until after this cycle?

Should I spend the money on more tests or is that just looking for problems that aren’t there?

Should I tell my boss I might need time off next month or keep it to myself in case nothing happens?

Should I have the glass of w**e or is that the thing that tips it?

You’ve had three miscarriages.

And somewhere along the way, you stopped trusting yourself to know what the right next move is.

Not because you’re incapable.

But because every decision feels like it has consequences you can’t see yet.

I specialise in working with women over 35 who’ve had recurrent miscarriages.

And the first thing I do isn’t give you a protocol.

It’s help you see what’s actually going on.

So you can make decisions about your body from a place of clarity, not fear.

If that’s what you need, send me a message.
