Northgate Village Surgery Northgate Village Surgery is a friendly well established GP training practice established in 1991 We also have additional doctors called registrars.

Northgate Village Surgery is a friendly well established GP training practice. The doctors and staff here at Northgate Village in Chester are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare. We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups. As our surgery is a teaching practice we occasionally have groups of medical students working with us to further their education. During their time with us, they are required to sit in during appointments from time to time. If you do not feel comfortable with this, please inform a member of staff when you book your appointment or as soon as possible on arrival. Registrars usually work with us for a year, helping them become fully qualified GP's. We are open five days a week Monday-Friday 8:00am-6:30pm and are closed during weekends and bank holidays. Once a month the practice closes for training between 12:00-5:00pm (Further information with the dates are allocated on our website). The majority of our surgeries are run on an appointment system where you can ring us on 01244 564319 or book online via patient access to arrange a routine appointment if you are a patient here at Northgate Village Surgery. For more urgent matters that should be dealt with on the day, we provide a Duty Doctor Telephone Triage system where you will be contacted by the Duty Doctor who will ring you back to discuss your problem. They will advise you or make an appointment for you to be seen when they feel appropriate. We also have routine Doctor and Nurse telephone appointments available where they will call you back after their morning surgery to discuss test results, travel advice and other health advice that can be dealt with over routinely over the telephone. For those housebound we can offer Home Visits from a doctor or assistance from the District Nurse team. Social Networking Policy:

Steady On Your Feet, an online falls platform, is brought to you by Cheshire East Council, Cheshire West and Chester Council and NHS Cheshire and Merseyside.

The platform is an online resource designed to help adults feel more confident about their balance and ability to get around more safely, providing an opportunity for adults to gain a greater awareness of potential falls risks and practical solutions to reduce those risks.

Falls Prevention Week is taking place from 21 to 25 September, with the falls prevention bus out and about and support available on the following dates.

Monday 21 September – Countess of Chester Hospital corridor (10am to 2pm) and Asda, Chester (10am to 2pm)
Wednesday 23 September – Ellesmere Port Hospital (10am to 2pm)
Friday 25 September - Chester Cathedral (9am to 5pm)
Wednesday 7 October – Ellesmere Port Civic Hall vaccination event (9am to 3pm)

From today, NHS England is rolling out HPV self-testing kits for women who have fallen behind on their cervical screening.

The free kits can be used at home, making it easier for more women to complete potentially lifesaving checks to help prevent cervical cancer.

Eligible women will start receiving invitations today, so check your phone, your email or your post to see if you qualify.

If you're invited, you'll be able to order a free kit through the NHS App or your NHS online account, and get back on track with protecting yourself against cervical cancer.
