Lips are the most requested area in the clinic and the one most often done badly, so it is worth explaining what separates a good result from a bad one.
It is not volume. Volume is the easy part to sell and the easiest part to overdo.
What makes lips look right is the frame around them. A clean edge along the border, a little lift in the middle of the top lip so the mouth has shape and corners that sit level or slightly up rather than turning down. Get the frame correct and a small amount of product goes a very long way. Skip the frame and you need more and more filler to create any definition at all, which is exactly how lips end up looking done.
Proportion matters just as much.
Lips are read against the rest of your face, not on their own. A mouth that suits one face will look wrong on another, which is why copying a result you saw online is rarely a good idea.
I assess your lips against your own features and work from there.
The appointment takes around 30 minutes. Numbing cream is applied first, making it far more comfortable than people expect.
There is usually some swelling for the first day or two which settles quickly, and the true result is visible at two weeks once everything has settled.
If you have been put off lip filler by something you have seen, it is worth having a conversation about it. Good lip work is quiet work.
