💥 **STOP MAKING EXCUSES. START MAKING CHANGES.** 💥
Time for a bit of honesty with myself this week!
I've gained **2.7lb this week**. I've been enjoying my staycation, eating more than usual and taking a break from my normal routine. And that's absolutely fine — I'm human! 😂
But now it's time to take a step back and be honest about where I go from here.
Since having both hips replaced, I've had to change the way I do things. Recovery takes time, and I absolutely needed to respect that. But I also need to be careful that I don't continue using my hips as an excuse to hold myself back when there are things I *can* do.
I might not be able to do everything I used to do, in the same way I used to do it, but that doesn't mean I can't do anything!
I've decided it's time to get back to lifting weights three days a week, build my strength back up and get back into a routine that works for me. 💪
Because here's the thing…
There's always going to be a reason why we *couldn't* do something.
We're tired. We're busy. We've had a bad week. The scales have gone up. We've got aches and pains. Life hasn't gone to plan.
Some of those reasons are completely valid, and sometimes we genuinely need to rest or adapt. But sometimes we also need to ask ourselves whether we're letting our circumstances become a reason not to do the things we actually can do.
I'm not going to beat myself up over a 2.7lb gain. I'm not going to starve myself to compensate for it. I'm simply going to acknowledge it, learn from the week and make some changes.
**I can't change what I've done this week, but I can change what I do next week.** ❤️
This isn't about perfection, punishing ourselves or making excuses to feel bad. It's about taking responsibility for the things within our control.
Small changes. Consistency. Getting back up when we wobble.
We don't need to wait for Monday, next month or the perfect circumstances.
We need to start where we are, with what we've got.
**So, who's with me? 🙋♀️ What's one thing YOU can change this week instead of making an excuse?**
