Before putting on costumes, inspect hats, wigs and headgear in bright light, including inside seams and linings. Avoid sharing headgear and hair accessories.
Make regular head lice screening part of your Halloween plans before and especially after the celebrations! Use a fine toothed lice comb and check carefully behind the ears and at the nape of the neck.

Remember: head-to-head contact is the main way lice spread, so checking costumes doesn’t replace checking hair. CDC
