Pre storm Crail this morning was quiet and calm. Hardly a car in sight, just a catch up with neighbours on the dog walk along Fife Coastal Path.

Since closing the door twenty minutes ago, the wind has certainly picked up but in East Neuk fluke style, the sun is just beaming in through the windows.

It will be gathering with my girl this week and such a sweet reminder of the passage of time as one daughter hands her skills to another. Seasonal living or necessity? the question for the first time in 80 years...

Sepia or Colour?

The simplicity of sepia used to make me smile every time I developed my photos in the dark room. It reminded me of the faded copies of the Antiques Trade Gazette and to***co smoke so abundant around me at that time.

Colour is more complicated. There is more to digest and accept, from changing seasons to faded glory; colour makes clear what sepia likes to keep secret.

I got seriously wet taking these photos today around Crail and at Artful Breath in Kingsbarns. The East Neuk horizon was hazy in the heavy rain but the sea remained still apart from a few waves beyond the harbour.

Wetness draws the colours out but the atmosphere seems to soak deeper into sepia. Whatever your preference, I hope you enjoy them and let me know which you like best and why.

Autumn sunshine casting dancing shadows across the Roundal The Cow Shed Crail this fine October morning.

Our seasonal yoga setting couldn't be better for a warm, intentional practice in this gorgeous East Neuk of Fife coastal venue with far reaching views towards Crail and the Isle of May.

Taking a traditional approach with a very contemporary twist, my hope is always to create a timeless and appealing experience for everyone involved.

Cultivating a love of practising yoga is well supported by this exceptional space. A place of celebration, ceremony, and an outpouring of love help fill these walls with a great feeling.

If you haven't joined us for Fireside Yoga before, this is the perfect time to try. All you need is a mat, blanket and cosy, comfy clothing to take part. All ages, stages, and experience levels are welcome and wanted.

A lot of personal reflections this weekend in Islay.

Having hit the half way mark with my married life, I've been going to Islay now for longer than I haven't.

Things are changing everywhere in life. Places, people, community, and communication. Things we loved are slowly slipping away and yet the same spots keep offering more opportunities to be together on really simple terms.

Sometimes I feel so much just from looking at the world I want to cry. There is so much beauty, it is hard not to be broken apart by being in it.

Yoga taught me about attachment and not just the undoing of it. The most painful part of everything is impermanence but the biggest joy is being attached. The fine line between overwhelming loss and immeasurable happiness like a drop of sunlight passing by without trace.

The scales are tipping in a new direction. Age and stage never more poignant or precious.
