✨Things I have used these small but mighty needles for…

To list just a few…

🩶 Chronic pain
🩶 Chronic fatigue
🩶 Anxiety and stress
🩶 Sleep difficulties
🩶 Tension and tight muscles
🩶 Headaches and migraines
🩶 Digestive issues
🩶 Hormonal health
🩶 Menstrual symptoms
🩶 Supporting relaxation and overall wellbeing.

Acupuncture is so much more than the needles, it’s about looking at the bigger picture and understanding what your body is experiencing then finding ways to support you as a whole person. Every person is different so every treatment is different.
Have you ever tried acupuncture? Is there something you have always wondered whether it can help with?

Ps. Please excuse the unaesthetic fingernails. No manicure here just acupuncture 🩶😂

✨“Where there is free flow, there is no pain. Where there is no free flow there is no pain.”

✨In Chinese Medicine, pain is often understood as a sign of blocked or disrupted flow. Acupuncture works with the body’s pathways to encourage movement, balance and circulation helping the body to return to harmony.

✨Remember, every body is different and it can take a few sessions to fully experience the benefits. Please give your body the time and space that it needs to respond to treatment.

“Does acupuncture hurt?” is one of the most common questions we hear from people considering acupuncture for the first time. The good news is that most people find it very gentle, with little to no discomfort. If you have been curious about booking acupuncture but weren’t sure what to expect, I hope this helps.
Do you have a question you would like to have answered in my next FAQ? Leave it in the comments or send me a message.

This is the most common question I am asked about acupuncture, “what can it help with? ” the answer is “so many things”. If you would like to find out for yourself and give acupuncture a try I am taking bookings in two different clinical locations. I am at Melanie Marke Bsc (hons) Acupuncture Lic.Ac MBAcC in York on Mondays and some Saturdays and I am in my own clinic upstairs at Carmen Hancock Podiatry in Darfield, Barnsley on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays & some Saturdays. The booking link is in my bio but if you have any more questions feel free to pop me a DM, I’d love to hear from you ✨

The full circle moment of how I ended up becoming an acupuncturist.
When I was working as a holistic therapist, I would often refer clients for acupuncture because I knew it could help - I’d experienced it myself and believed in it.
So I took the leap and spent three enjoyable but challenging years studying at for a BSc degree in acupuncture. My favourite part was the 400 hours of clinical experience, working with real patients and learning that each person’s journey is different.
No two treatments are the same because no two people are the same and I love that.
So now, I’m grateful to be working in my own practice in Darfield, whilst also working alongside a fabulous, kind acupuncturist in her clinic.
I particularly love helping people who are feeling tired, run down or simply not feeling like themselves to feel more energised and balanced again.
This journey is now taking me somewhere very special…
In January I will be travelling to Gujarat in India with the charity to volunteer, providing acupuncture to people who may not otherwise have access to it. I’m very excited about this next chapter.
From being a patient, to recommending acupuncture, to studying it and now practicing it -really is a full circle moment.
I’m so glad I followed that little nudge.
