✨🧠 THIS WEEK’S PILATES BENEFIT: EXERCISE FOR YOUR BRAIN! 🧠✨
Did you know that Pilates doesn’t just challenge your muscles? It gives your brain a little workout too! ❤️
Have you ever been in class and I’ve asked you to move your arms in one direction, your legs in another AND remember to breathe?
And suddenly you’re wondering what on earth is going on! 😂🙈
There’s actually a reason behind all that coordination 😁
Pilates encourages us to concentrate, learn movement patterns and connect what our brain is telling our body to do.
✨ HERE’S WHY THAT MATTERS…
🧠 Concentration: Focusing on your movements gives your busy mind something positive to concentrate on.
💪 Coordination: Combining different movements challenges the communication between your brain and muscles.
🌿 Body awareness: Pilates helps you become more aware of where your body is in space and how you’re moving.
❤️ Confidence: Learning new exercises and noticing your progress can give you a real sense of achievement.
✨ Mental wellbeing: Regular physical activity can support our mood and help reduce feelings of stress.
And the lovely thing?
You don’t have to get every exercise right!
Sometimes getting your arms and legs completely muddled, having a giggle and trying again is all part of the fun! 😂
💛 A LITTLE CHALLENGE FOR THIS WEEK!
Try brushing your teeth with your opposite hand!
Notice how much more concentration it takes to do something you normally do without thinking.
It’s a lovely little reminder of how our brains and bodies work together.
Pilates is about so much more than strengthening muscles. It’s about keeping our minds engaged, our bodies moving and enjoying the process along the way.
And if we can have a good laugh while we’re doing it, even better! 💛
