I’m speaking at the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce Next Generation Event, next Wednesday 7 October about career decisions, opportunities, and some of the things I’ve learned about launching my business along the way.

The truth is, most of us don’t have it all mapped out. Some of the best opportunities come from saying yes, backing yourself, and being willing to learn as you go.

I’ve been a keynote speaker at this BIPC Northamptonshire ‘start up event’ in previous years, but sadly I can’t make it this year.

If you’re an entrepreneur, thinking of launching a new business or current small business owner in Northamptonshire, I’d definitely recommend going.

These events have been really useful for me with Medi8 Therapy. You meet other business owners, have some good conversations, pick up ideas and sometimes make connections that lead to something you didn’t expect.

A lot of the progress I’ve made with Medi8 has come from getting out there, meeting people and being part of the local business community.

So if you’re thinking about going, go.

Thank you Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce for hosting the Northamptonshire Business Awards last night.

Medi8 Therapy didn’t quite get the glory in the of the year award.

The winner of our category went on to be named of the year, which highlights the size difference in organisations we were competing against.

As a micro business, we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved and look forward to continuing our growth while supporting the individuals, families and communities around us.

World Su***de Prevention Day

Sometimes the most important thing you can do is simply ask:

“Are you okay?”

And then be prepared to really listen to the answer.

We don’t need to have all the answers. We don’t need to be experts. But we can make it easier for people to talk, and make sure they know where to get proper support when they do.

At Medi8 Therapy, we talk a lot about relationships, communication and having the conversations that can sometimes be difficult to have.

This is one of those conversations.

Don’t be afraid to ask. Don’t be afraid to listen. And don’t assume someone else will.

We’ve been recognised in the SME News Awards, which is nice and I’m really pleased about it. But I’m not getting too carried away.

Next week is the one I’m really looking forward to, as we are attending the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce business awards where Medi8 Therapy is a finalist for Best Small Business.

That one would mean a lot.
