We had a challenge. Watch to the end to see her results! 👀

Our patient with solar elastosis wanted real improvement without anything too invasive or synthetic.

That meant no CO2 laser. No dermal filler. No polynucleotides. No Profhilo.

Solar elastosis is sun damage to the collagen and elastin in the dermis, which shows up as lines, wrinkles, and crepey texture.

Usually, we'd treat this with CO2 laser or dermal filler, depending on suitability and preference.

We started with Dermapen microneedling. It improved her radiance but had minimal effect on her skin texture & elasticity.

So we moved to PRP. Your own platelets are rich in growth factors, and when they're injected into the skin, they stimulate new collagen and help repair sun damage.

Combined with ZO skincare, her skin is now healthier, firmer & more radiant.

If you like the idea of improving your skin using your own biology, get in touch to book a consultation. ✨

Hello, new faces! 👋 Let us re-introduce ourselves.

Welcome to The Calla Clinic, a small team of passionate women who love helping you look and feel your best. Every one of us brings our own bit of magic to Team Calla ✨

Ellie, Front of House 💕
The friendly face who greets you at the door, the warm voice on the end of the phone, and, unofficially, your patient support system. Part receptionist, full-time legend.

Nurse Cheryl, Founder & Boss Lady 👑
With over 25 years in aesthetics, Cheryl still loves her job as much as day one. Her speciality is natural-looking results, and a complex full-face filler case is her idea of a good time. Subtle, balanced, and never overdone.

Dr Harpreet, Aesthetic Doctor ✨
An experienced medical doctor with 5 years in aesthetic medicine and a specialist qualification in menopause, Harpreet brings together skin and women's health under one roof. She's our laser queen, offering CO2, Endolift, and IPL alongside injectables.

Dr Harriett, Doctor & Co-Founder 🤍
A former A&E doctor with 6 years in aesthetic medicine and a PGDip in Dermatology, Harriett is endlessly passionate about skin health. She's experienced in peels, lasers, and injectables. She splits her time between part-time clinical work and running the clinic behind the scenes, so you'll often find her shaping the patient experience even when she's not in the treatment room.

One thing we all have in common? A love of animals! Between us, we have 8 dogs, 2 cats, a tortoise, and a few fish. 🐶😸🐢🐠

Every treatment is led by experienced medical professionals, and every plan starts with a conversation. Whether you're after subtle refinement, skin rejuvenation, or support through menopause, you're in safe, expert hands. 💚

No pressure, just great skin and good chat ☕

A beautiful lip result for Nurse Cheryl using the Swedish Lip technique.

A small amount of filler placed in the right position can make a world of difference.

These results are immediately after, so there will be a small amount of swelling which will soon settle.

What do you think of her results? 💋

Day 3 botox & one brow looks higher than the other? 👀 Don't panic - here's what's actually happening.

Botox is a muscle relaxant. It works by blocking the signal from the nerve to the facial muscles. It doesn't do this instantly. It is a gradual process kicking in days after your treatment.

When botox starts to work, it doesn't work on all muscles equally at the exact same time. This means you may notice some unevenness and asymmetry during the first 2 weeks after treatment.

Watch to the end to see Dr Harriett's uneven botox to show you this effect.

This is why we arrange a review appointment 2 weeks after your treatment so we can check your results and adjust with small tweaks if necessary.

Save this for when you're in the "is it working?" phase, and send it to a friend who's about to have it done.

Not every skin type can have CO2 laser. Here's who can (and an alternative if you can't).

CO2 laser causes a controlled injury to the top layer of skin cells (the epidermis).

Your epidermis contains your pigment making cells. When this layer is injured, sometimes the pigment cells make more pigment as a protective response to inflammation.

This happens more frequently in darker skin types, as the pigment making cells are more active/behave differently.

This is why CO2 laser is not suitable for all Fitzpatrick skin types. We can safely treat 1-4 (4 with careful preparation & caution). Unfortunately, we can't treat skin types 5&6 as the risk is too high.

Thankfully, Endolift can be used on all Fitzpatrick skin types. This is because the laser fibre passes deep into the skin, delivering energy to the dermal layer, keeping the epidermis intact. This significantly reduces the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

This doesn't mean we aren't careful with darker skin types when performing Endolift - we still have to follow steps to manage the risk, but it is generally much safer.

Have you got any questions about CO2 vs Endolift? 👇

When someone asks us if Endolift hurts.

Honestly. No.

We perform Endolift using a local anaesthetic, meaning you will be comfortable throughout your treatment. Some patients have even described it as relaxing...
