πŸ’š Pregnant or had a baby in the last 12 months? Support is available for your pelvic health!

Pregnancy and childbirth can bring changes to your body, but you don't have to put up with pelvic health problems in silence.

The Perinatal Pelvic Health Service, provided by University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, offers information and support for people experiencing problems such as:

πŸ’§ Leaking wee when coughing, sneezing or exercising
πŸ’š Pelvic floor weakness
πŸ’š Pelvic or pelvic-girdle pain
πŸ’š Bladder or bowel control problems

Whether you're currently pregnant or have recently given birth, it's worth finding out what support is available. These problems are common, but that doesn't mean you have to put up with them.

You can self-refer directly to the service! Visit the link below to find out more and complete the appropriate self-referral form.

Today we’re showing our support for everyone affected by breast cancer. πŸ’•

Breast cancer can affect both women and men, and knowing what’s normal for you is so important.

πŸ’• LOOK, TOUCH, CHECK
πŸŽ€ Look for any changes in the size, shape or appearance of your breasts or chest.
πŸ’• Touch to check for lumps, thickening or any unusual changes.
🩷 Check with your GP if you notice anything unusual or have concerns.

Changes don’t always mean cancer, but it’s important to get them checked. Please don’t wait to seek advice.

Today, we remember those we’ve lost, support those going through treatment, and celebrate those who have survived. πŸ’—

Let’s help raise awareness and remind everyone that early detection matters.

πŸ“± A small change to the way we send you messages

We’re making a change to the way we contact patients by text message.

When we need to send you information or a message from the practice, we will now send this to you through the NHS App first, rather than by SMS.

πŸ’¬ Don’t worry if you don’t see the NHS App message straight away. If you haven’t read the message within 60 minutes, we will automatically send you an SMS instead, so you won’t miss important information from us.

If you don’t have the NHS App, you’ll simply receive a text message as normal.

This means you can continue to receive messages from Wellbrook even if you don’t regularly check the NHS App.

πŸ‘‰ We do recommend keeping the NHS App on your phone and making sure notifications are switched on, where possible, so you can see messages from us as soon as they arrive.

There’s nothing you need to do differently β€” we just wanted to let you know about this change so you know what to expect. 😊

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us make the most of the NHS App.

πŸŽ‰ Congratulations to Wellbrook Medical Practice on achieving Carer Friendly Status! πŸŽ‰

After working closely with DAACSS, the practice has successfully completed its Carer Friendly training programme. This included:

βœ… Training reception staff
βœ… Running Carers' clinics
βœ… Holding regular Carers' meetings
βœ… Updating their Carers Policy
βœ… Appointing a dedicated Carer Champion within the practice

Today, they were proudly awarded Carer Friendly Status! πŸ’™

Pictured are some of the team who attended an informative session delivered by our GP Liaison Officer, Lisa, which helped increase understanding of the impact that caring can have on Young Carers, working-age Carers, and older Carers.

The team has committed to supporting unpaid Carers in their day-to-day work and to upholding the Carers Pledge, ensuring carers are recognised, valued, and supported. 🀝

πŸ“’ If you care for someone and are not registered as a Carer with your GP practice, please speak to the reception team. Registering as a Carer can help you access the support and information available to you.

Well done to everyone involved in making a positive difference for Carers in their community! 🌟
