CIO: 1208216 Our Centre is run by Volunteers, who offer support, friendship and information to cancer patients, their families and carers, indeed anyone whose life is touched by cancer in the Dereham area. Visit for a coffee and a chat with our volunteers; some of whom have had cancer themselves and have experienced what you may be going through, others have lost a loved one to cancer and are now here to support you. Extensive literature from Macmillan Cancer Support is available to you: explaining cancer types, various treatment options, living with cancer, nutrition, well being, and helpful advice on complimentry therapies are all available. Leaflet information on various support and backup services is available for both patients and carers. We offer lending of equipment including wheelchairs, walkers, rubber rings and Chillow Pillows for patients. Appointments with our qualified therapist for Reflexology and Indian head massage can be arranged at the Centre. Our Charity sponsors treatment sessions for cancer patients and their carers. This service is also offered to those recently bereaved who have lost a loved one to cancer.

Good morning. Something a little bit different than our normal what’s on!

“Hi Zoe,

I just wanted to say a massive thank you for today. Honestly, I can’t tell you what a difference it made to my mother-in-law. She was in a very different place when we walked in, and by the time we left I could really see a change in her.
Christine, Daisy, Paula and Jeanette were just so kind and welcoming, and Trevor was so sweet encouraging her to come back. It really meant a lot to me seeing everyone make such an effort with her.
She isn’t driving at the moment, which is why I took the day off to bring her, but I really feel that once she is driving again, she’ll now have the confidence to pop in on her own, which would be lovely.
Her chat with Christine really helped too. I think it made her realise that she probably does need a bit more support and she is going to look into counselling at Swaffham and Litcham Home Hospice.
Thank you so much again. I know you guys are wonderful, but experiencing it first-hand with someone I love made me appreciate even more what you all do❤️”

On Tuesday evening we have our monthly Menopause drop in. Open to all 7-9pm.

We are delighted to be attending this and have been asked to share the following:-

"We are pleased to share that we will be holding a Carers Wellness and Information Event at Dereham Memorial Hall on Wednesday 18th November.

The aim of this event is to ensure Carers in Breckland have access to information and support about their own health and wellbeing. We are linking with Carers Rights Day, a national day to raise awareness of the rights unpaid Carers are entitled to, and to help them get the support they need and the recognition they deserve.

This event will bring together local organisations and groups as well as providing Carers access to free wellness therapies to give Carers a crucial break from their caring role.
