Luminate Wellness Barn Luminate was set up by Becky in 2023 to help people find alternative treatments to help them to heal. But it is possible….

I have always loved alternative therapies and I have always been the first to try out new treatments when I hear about them. I started really focusing on a more natural way of life when I realised the steroid cream I had been using for over twenty years was not healing by skin issues. I wanted to get to the root cause of why my body was reacting like it was. I didn’t realise how damaging the creams were that I had been using for all those years but I knew they were only masking my skin problems. I wanted to get to the root cause of why my body was reacting like it was and this is where the journey started! I am still on my healing journey but my skin is 80% better now. I have cleaned up my diet, cut back on alcohol and removed as many toxic products from my home as I can. I try and make time for myself more now, self care is so important. It’s not easy when you’re a mum of three homeschooled children, three dogs and trying to run a business! My vision to collaborate with other holistic therapist and to create a safe space for exceptional healing experiences that will enhance the physical, mental and emotional well being of our clients. To offer a time of peaceful tranquillity where you can unwind and relax while being well looked after and nourished as the ‘whole’ person you are!

Anyone else feel like packing school lunches is a never-ending job? 😂

I’ve become much more conscious of what goes into my children’s lunchboxes, especially when you start looking at the ingredients in some everyday snacks.

It’s surprising how much ultra-processed food has become part of our normal routine.

I’m not saying our lunchboxes are perfect, because they’re definitely not! But I’ve been trying to make small changes where I can.

Fresh fruit, crunchy vegetables, good sources of protein, simpler ingredients and the occasional homemade treat.

And yes, convenience matters too. We’re all busy parents, and sometimes you just need something quick!

For me, it’s not about being strict or making children feel guilty about food. It’s about helping them build healthier habits that hopefully stay with them as they grow.

I’d love to hear from other Oxfordshire parents — what’s one thing your children absolutely LOVE having in their lunchbox?

I’m always looking for new ideas!

Sometimes the right people really do come into your life at the right time.

I’m so excited to introduce you to Riico, someone whose approach to holistic wellbeing really resonates with me and the direction Luminate is heading.

My interest actually started with my son, when I wanted to explore different ways of understanding some of the challenges he was experiencing. We ended up going through the process as a family, and it’s been quite a personal journey.

Riico combines naturopathy with bioenergetic screening and traditional energy-based practices. It’s a different approach, and one I’m looking forward to sharing more about. These methods are complementary and aren’t medically validated diagnostic tests.

We’re now collaborating with Riico, with a special referral rate available for Luminate clients here in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

Curious about how it works? Send me a message or comment below. I’d love to tell you more!

Are teenagers struggling more than ever, or has the world they’re growing up in simply become harder to navigate?

As a mum of teenagers myself, I think about this a lot.

Social media, school pressure, poor sleep, processed food, hormonal changes and barely any time outdoors. It’s a lot for young people whose brains and bodies are still developing.

And believe me, I know how difficult it is to encourage healthier choices when you’re raising teenagers!

But perhaps we need to stop asking what’s wrong with them and start looking more closely at what’s happening around them.

I’ve shared more of my thoughts over on Substack — Luminate Barn.

I’m also offering £10 off our hair and bioenergetic testing for anyone interested in exploring this further. Just send me a message for details. Please note this isn’t a medical diagnostic test.

Parents, I’d love to know — do you think teenagers have it harder today than we did?

Does anyone else feel like everyone around them is constantly coming down with something lately?

One cold finishes, another starts. The children bring something home from school, everyone’s exhausted, and before you know it, someone else is feeling unwell.

Especially at this time of year.

Of course, autumn and winter naturally bring more respiratory infections. But I do wonder how much our everyday lifestyles are affecting how well we feel in general.

We spend so much time indoors, often barely seeing natural daylight. We rush from one thing to another, survive on convenience foods, stay up too late and then wonder why we’re constantly feeling tired and run down.

And yet we’re always looking for the next supplement, wellness product or quick fix.

I’m not saying that getting outside and eating better will stop us getting ill. Of course it won’t. Viruses are still viruses, and there are many reasons people become unwell.

But perhaps we need to start giving the basics a little more attention?

Getting outside, even when the Oxfordshire weather isn’t particularly inviting. Eating more fresh, nourishing food. Moving our bodies. Prioritising sleep. Actually allowing ourselves to rest.

These things aren’t particularly exciting, and they certainly aren’t new. But they matter.

Here at Luminate Barn in Didcot, looking at wellbeing as a whole is something I feel increasingly passionate about.

Because looking after ourselves shouldn’t just begin when something goes wrong.

I’m curious — do you think we’ve made healthy living far more complicated than it needs to be? Or do you think modern life makes it genuinely difficult to get the basics right?

I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Something I’ve been using at home for a while is now available for you to enjoy too!

I first discovered ORA when I was looking for simple ways to bring a little more calm into my everyday routine. I loved it so much that I bought another one to use during treatments here at Luminate Barn.

And now I’m really excited that you can purchase your own directly through our website!

The ORA Sound Machine combines calming sound frequencies, gentle vibrations and soft lighting to create a lovely, peaceful atmosphere.

Whether you’re winding down before bed, meditating, reading or simply trying to find five minutes of quiet in a busy day, it’s such an easy thing to incorporate into your routine.

And because I wanted you to get more out of your ORA, I’ve also written a 32-page digital guide, which you’ll receive completely FREE with your purchase.

It covers all 10 Solfeggio frequencies, how you might choose to use them, and little rituals you can introduce into your day.

I think sometimes we make looking after ourselves far more complicated than it needs to be. Creating a calmer environment at home is a lovely place to start.

ORA Sound Machine | £79

Now available to order through our Luminate Wellness website, based here in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

I’d love to know — would you use yours more for meditation, relaxation or as part of your bedtime routine?

Reflexology is one of those treatments that sounds simple until you actually experience it.

Yes, we’re working with the feet — but for many people, the biggest thing they notice is just how deeply they’re able to switch off.

An hour where nobody needs anything from you. No rushing. No phone. No endless list of things you should be doing. Just time to lie back, breathe and let someone else look after you for a change.

Here at Luminate in Didcot, Siobhan offers dedicated reflexology treatments and can also incorporate elements of reflexology into her intuitive treatments, depending on what feels right for you on the day.

And I think that’s why treatments like this deserve to be part of our regular wellbeing routine — not something we only think about when we’re already exhausted or completely overwhelmed.

Sometimes giving yourself permission to stop for an hour is more valuable than we realise.

Have you ever tried reflexology? I’d love to know how you felt afterwards.

The older I get, the more I realise that looking after your health isn’t about trying to live perfectly.

It’s about wanting to feel well enough to actually enjoy your life.

For years I thought going to the gym meant I was looking after myself. Meanwhile, I wasn’t really thinking about my sleep, what I was eating, how much I was drinking, stress, recovery or what my body actually needed.

Now I look at health completely differently.

I still want dinners out, holidays, treats and late nights. I don’t want my entire life to revolve around being “healthy”. But I do want to understand my body better and make better choices while I still have the choice to make them.

Because when something starts affecting your ability to walk, exercise, work or do the things you love, your perspective changes very quickly.

And that thinking is becoming a much bigger part of where Luminate is heading too.

Less guessing. More understanding. Looking at the individual as a whole and asking better questions about what could actually be contributing to how we feel.

There’s something new coming to Luminate here in Didcot, and I’m genuinely so excited to share more next week.

For now, I’d love to know — has getting older changed the way you think about your health too?

Reflexology is so much more than a foot massage, and I think it’s one of those treatments you don’t fully appreciate until you’ve actually experienced it.

There’s something quite special about having an hour where you don’t need to do anything. No rushing, no phone, no list of things waiting for you. You can simply lie back, switch off and let someone else look after you for a change.

Siobhan offers reflexology here at Luminate in Didcot, working with different reflex points across the feet and adapting each treatment to the individual rather than following exactly the same routine every time.

Some people come because they’re feeling stressed or run down, others simply love how deeply relaxing the treatment feels. And for many, it becomes something they choose to make part of their regular wellbeing routine.

I really think we need to get better at making time for ourselves before we reach the point of desperately needing it.

If you’re in Didcot or Oxfordshire and you’ve never tried reflexology before, you can book a dedicated treatment with Siobhan or experience elements of reflexology within one of her intuitive treatments.

Have you tried reflexology before?
