The good news stories from TLC's support in South Liverpool Homes Reach keep coming.
Freya first met Rhona at Reach for help when she was 15. At the time, she knew she wanted to work in childcare but was unsure about the best route to take. Rhona helped Freya explore her options by looking at her interests and strengths, including Psychology and Sociology. Together, they created her CV and applied for an Early Years apprenticeship through Find an Apprenticeship.
That application led to a two-week work trial and assessment, which Freya is thrilled to have passed! Now 16, she is waiting for her DBS check so she can begin working as a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner.
Freya said:
“I couldn’t have achieved this without Rhona’s help. She gave me interview practice through Workology, helped me write my CV, improved my knowledge of the hidden job market and built my confidence.”
At Transform Lives Company, we are passionate advocates for helping young people find routes into work. This means making opportunities more accessible, helping young people recognise their strengths and offering practical, person-focused support as they take their first steps into employment.
Freya's Mum popped into the hub this week to say thanks and said that she can see how her confidence has grown, and that she's up and out every morning, creating a routine.
Huge congratulations to Freya, and a big thank you to Rhona for supporting her in building confidence and starting a career in childcare. 💙
