We are all born worthy and deserving of love.

Take a moment to really sit with that… and notice if you truly believe it about yourself.

Because for most of my life, I didn’t.

I felt so unworthy and undeserving, that I was different, that love wasn't available to me, that each "bad" act over my lifetime was so shameful and made me such a bad person that I was unworthy and undeserving of love.

But I've learnt to know and understand that every single soul on this planet was born worthy and deserving love, including me.

And it all starts with loving ourselves.
Loving all the parts of ourselves, even the things we dislike or feel ashamed about.

Loving ourselves unconditionally, warts and all...because isn't that what we want from others? Well we must start with ourselves first.

Being compassionate with ourselves as we would with others, to forgive ourselves for the mistakes we made, the things we did - or didn't do - that we wish we'd done differently.

To know that our past mistakes don't define who we are today. When we see them as opportunities for learning we can use those mistakes as a springboard for becoming the person we are growing into.

Because the things we feel ashamed about are the things we fear that others will judge us for. When we spend our lives worrying about what others think of us...then we live no life at all. We cannot be true to ourselves when we're trying to be the person we think and hope will be loved and accepted.

When you can love and accept yourself then you never need to worry about what other people think. Your only focus needs to be on the following questions:

"Am I being true to myself in this moment?"
"Am I saying yes to please someone else or because it's what I truly want?"

Loving yourself allows you to

Don’t get me wrong… I absolutely love the signs of spring. 🌼
It’s my favourite time of year. The light returning, the birdsong, the first flowers bravely pushing through the soil.

But here’s the truth…

My body isn’t quite ready yet.

It’s still craving winter ❄️

It’s craving slow mornings, dark evenings, being wrapped up warm, long walks in crisp cold air, and the deep kind of rest that you don’t realise you need until you finally allow yourself to stop.

And honestly… that has really surprised me.

Because for most of my life, winter was the season I dreaded.
Especially here in England - long, grey, damp days that felt heavy and never-ending.

For the past few years, my life has looked pretty magical from the outside.
Travelling between the UK and New Zealand, spending months at a time in the sunshine, soaking up time with family, living what many people would call “the dream” ✈️🌞😎

But what I hadn’t bargained for…
was how deeply my body would start to crave something I had spent years trying to escape.

After losing my mum last year, I gave myself permission to stop travelling for a while.
To stay.
To rest.
To experience a proper winter again.

And my body has loved every single minute of it.

It’s still asking for more.

And that has taught me something powerful.

There really is a time for every season.

Not just in nature - but in our lives.

We live in a world that constantly tells us to keep going...
To be productive.
To stay busy.
To push through.

And when we don’t… we often shame ourselves for it.

But our bodies aren’t designed to live in permanent summer.

They need recovery after the busyness.
They need space after the giving.
They need quiet after the noise.

If we ignore that need for long enough, our bodies don’t just cope…
they quietly (and sometimes loudly) begin to fall apart.

Rest isn’t a luxury.
It’s essential.

The ancient ones understood this.
We’re just need to remember it again.

And what’s even more beautiful is that after years of missing spring altogether, I’m finally here to witness it again.
The daffodils.
The crocuses.
The blossom.
The sound of life returning 🐦

I’m loving it deeply…
while still honouring that one winter wasn’t enough to make up for all the winters my body missed.

The real lesson for me?

We must learn to soften.
To slow down.
To tune in.
To really listen.
To nourish instead of push.
To trust the quiet wisdom of the body.

Because your body already knows what you need. 💛

There is so much magic when women come together in community, harmony, compassion and love. That’s what happens in sister circle. There’s no judgement, no fixing, just the freedom to speak your truth and to be seen, heard and validated.

I want to share with you the theme we explored this week, which was “worthiness”.

For so many of us, when we’re hurting, we keep piling on the pain until we’re spiralling down into the darkness.

One thing happens that upsets us and we make it mean so much more than it is, we remember all the other hurts and the old, familiar beliefs come to the surface and we pile those on too…

…until we end up in a quagmire of self-pity, victimhood & self loathing.

When we make a choice, when we decide that we are going to start loving ourselves and removing the ugly, hurtful, untrue words from our vocabulary… then we can start to have a much better quality of life.

When we learn to love ourselves, we open ourselves up to so much more - joy, peace, empowerment, purpose, motivation.

We set firm, loving boundaries to protect our energy, our space and our integrity. We start trusting and listening to our intuition And we start saying yes only when it feels truly aligned and no when it doesn’t.

It’s not about who we were and what we did - that’s all in the past - it’s about who we are becoming.

We read a beautiful poem by Donna Ashworth, attached.

The journaling prompts we used were -

“When I’m hurting, do I seek more darkness to hurt myself more?”

And

“How can I allow myself to feel the love?”

Feel free to journal on these too. Light a candle & maybe some incense, set some music on to play, pull an oracle card (if you have a deck) and gift yourself the space to explore this theme.
