Spoiler alert: this was 8 hours ago, did we speak too soon 🤯😅

(Said from under a pile of oats and not a single one of them successfully in a bag)

Also shout out to our amazing designer who may disagree that we’re only ‘tweaking’ our packaging 🤣😬

We’re weeks away from signing off our new branding 👀

And if we get a move on we might just have the new bags printed before porridge season’s over 😅

It’s funny looking back. We were so proud of those little black paper bags with a ‘logo’ done in 10 mins on Canva and wondered why shops wouldn’t take them 🤣

See pic 3 for the direction the website nearly went if James had got his way 🤣 🤢

Then we graduated to ‘proper’ bags with stickers for labels and thought we’d really made it 🔥 p

The latest iteration and our first run of professionally printed bags was a big investment. For months we couldn’t bring ourselves to read the back of pack incase we spotted a typo. And wild we never actually thought to explain what there were - no where on the front does it say overnight oats or porridge 🫠

They get lots of compliments (and got us into Selfridges!) so can’t be all bad. But are also mistaken for coffee, and the oat for a bean.

Behind the scenes we’ve been working with a packaging designer and illustrator to redefine our ideal customer persona.

Less stickers, and a clearer USP but still full of character.

We reeeeeally can’t wait to see them on shelf and hope you like them as much as we do 🤞🏻🤞🏻 any guesses??

Well that was fun! Our first ever festival THAME FOOD FESTIVAL ⛺️

We came back with tired feet, sore throats, many learnings and even more big ideas 🤗

Highlights include

Andrew from Freda's Peanut Butter helping to hold our gazebo down as the storm approached. 15 mins later we had to dissemble it completely 😅

Kate conquering fears and talking to the wonderful Suzy Pelta live on the producer stage about our journey so far and our hopes for the future. Low key now considering a career in public speaking 🤣

The feedback and conversations we had with new customers after the live tasting 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

The man that questioned our whole ethos and why a shop would ever stock a product that only contains 6 ingredients (insert all our amazing stockists and customers that know low-processed food is key 👋🏻)

Chatting to stall neighbour and spice Queen Kash from silkroadblends about everything from market do’s and dont’s to our shared dislike of dogs 🫣

Delirious with oat dust 😅

Felt a good idea to set ourselves a target, but we’re now just 5 days away from our first ever 2-day food festival and the factory is not yet complete.

Turns out it’s not as simple as buy some machines and plug them in 😬

All hands on deck this week in hope we can get it done and stock ready in time.

We’ve had to make the tricky decision to pause wholesale orders in the meantime, and everything has sold out online except cacao.

If anyone knows how to fix a screw auger or time on their hands to chop a few tonnes of pumpkin seeds 🙋🏻‍♀️

So if you see us at next weekend and we’re a little bleary eyed, we’ve made it by the skin off our teeth 🤣
