A transplant gives you new grafts. It does not stop the hair around them from changing.

Native hair keeps following its own cycle, and the grafts need a healthy scalp to settle into. That is why aftercare matters and why most people do best with a plan rather than one-off visits.

PRP is widely used in post-transplant aftercare and graft support, usually in a course with sessions four to six weeks apart and maintenance after that. Our maintenance memberships spread the cost across the year:

Losing weight with medication such as Mounjaro and noticing more hair in the plughole?

Rapid weight loss and calorie restriction are well-known triggers for shedding (telogen effluvium). When calories or protein drop, hair growth is one of the first things the body pauses. It tends to show up a couple of months after the change.

The clocks went back overnight, so here is something to do with a slower Sunday: a quick scalp reset.

1. Wash by what your scalp needs, not by rules. Greasy roots, itching, flaking or heavy hair means it is time, whatever day it is.
2. Do not go to bed with wet hair. It does not cause hair loss, but wet hair is at its weakest and friction overnight means breakage.
3. Love your hair oil? Use it as a pre-wash treatment for 30 to 60 minutes rather than sleeping in it.
4. Be kind to your pillow. Silk or satin cuts friction.

One of the questions I get most: "How long until I see a difference?"

Honest answer: longer than anyone would like.

Hair grows around a centimetre a month and follicles work on a cycle. With a structured programme, for example our six-week stem cell course, changes are often noticed from around 35 days, with optimal results at around six months. PRP is typically given four to six weeks apart, with maintenance every six to twelve months.

Anyone promising results in a fortnight is selling something. Anyone telling you it is hopeless is not looking closely enough.
