π€± Breastfeeding Support | NHS Fife
The NHS Fife Infant Feeding Team is dedicated to supporting families and staff across Fife. π
A wide range of breastfeeding support services are available. In the first instance, you can get general breastfeeding support and information from:
π Your community midwife
π Your health visitor or family nurse
There are also other sources of help and support available, including:
π Telephone and home-visiting support from breastfeeding support workers
π€± Specialist support for mums experiencing more complex breastfeeding challenges
π Peer support through local groups
π¬ Support from voluntary organisations and the National Breastfeeding Helpline
All breastfeeding mothers should be given a copy of the Breastfeeding Support Information Leaflet before leaving the maternity unit. You can also ask your midwife, health visitor or family nurse for a copy.
The Breastfeeding Support Team works alongside midwives and health visitors to provide additional help, encouragement and advice. They can answer any questions you may have and offer support by telephone or through a home visit.
The team will aim to telephone you within a few days of returning home from hospital to see how things are going. π
If you would like this additional breastfeeding support, please speak to your midwife or health visitor and ask for a referral.
You can also refer yourself by calling:
