Yesterday's Training turned into a rescue operation. coaching
A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO THE EMERGENCY SERVICES AND LOCAL HEROES OF THE PENTLANDS! ❤️⛰️
May I take a moment to thank everyone involved in a rescue in the Pentlands.
A friend and I headed out hiking, fortunately carrying all the correct gear. Unfortunately, things took a serious turn when my good friend suffered a triple ankle fracture.
We were in a remote location, not the easiest place to find. By using grid references, we were able to guide the emergency services towards our exact location.
I also want to give a massive thank you to Erica and Colin, two local people who very selflessly stepped up to help. They offered their time, their local knowledge and their quad bikes, working alongside the emergency services and their Wolverine quad to help get my friend safely off the hill and on her way to hospital.
A special mention to Ryan and his team of paramedics — absolutely spot on throughout. Their professionalism, compassion and teamwork were outstanding.
To everyone involved, thank you. In a difficult situation, people came together, shared their knowledge and resources, and helped get someone who was seriously injured to safety.
It's easy to take our emergency services and local communities for granted until we find ourselves in a situation where we need them. This experience was a powerful reminder of the incredible things that can happen when people step up to help others.
Erica, Colin, Ryan and the entire emergency services team — you are absolute legends! 👏❤️
Teamwork makes the dream work! 💪⛰️
