Alex had noticed a lump in his neck and his GP referred him for a scan, but it was a bit of a wait, so he booked in with me at Clarity. You can hear from the video that there were some abnormal looking lymph nodes, which were concerning, but he also had a blood clot in a vein on the other side of his neck to the lump. He confirmed he had shortness of breath and so I asked him to urgently go to A&E to get anticoagulants to disperse the clot - I was worried he would get a pulmonary embolism. His results were sent to him the same day so he could discuss them with the team in A&E who rapidly treated him, gave him a CT scan which also confirmed a mass in his chest causing the clot in his neck. One of the radiology Consultants (and they are ALL like this - hardworking and excellent) Dr Skinner, stayed overtime to make sure he got a biopsy. He’s waiting for the results of those and I’m following his YouTube channel: https://m.youtube.com/ and wishing him the very best. I don’t often get to see what happens next for a patient once I’ve sent the results and recommendations to the treating clinician, but for everyone I see it is a privilege to use what I have been taught to help others. Integrating with your wider healthcare journey has been carefully thought out at Clarity, and I’ll try my best to facilitate and support the next step for you. Good luck Alex.
