Freaky Friday at Creative Serenity!

Another freakishly fabulous Friday with plenty of creativity, a little bit of Halloween magic and, of course, a few unexpected surprises along the way!

Today we got busy creating beautiful autumn trees and continued our collection of goth butterflies… or should we call them moths? Either way, they’re looking wonderfully spooky!

Then Gemma decided that creativity wasn’t quite enough and kicked off an impromptu disco party with Lee! Kelly joined in the fun, and before long we had our very own Friday afternoon dance floor. Who needs a nightclub when you’ve got Creative Serenity?!

Emily also gave us all a fabulous Halloween fashion show, looking absolutely fantastic in her Halloween-themed clothes and showing off her perfectly purple hair. She definitely understood the assignment!

As always, there was plenty of laughter, creativity, music and friendship. It’s what we do best at Creative Serenity… making every session a little bit special.

We currently have ONE FULL-DAY PLACE AVAILABLE ON WEDNESDAY AND ONE FULL-DAY PLACE AVAILABLE ON FRIDAY!

Our full-day sessions run from 9.30am until 4pm and cost £50 for the whole day. Morning and afternoon sessions are also available at £30 each, and free taster sessions are always welcome.

Creative Serenity is a welcoming, friendly place for adults with additional needs to get creative, make friends, enjoy music and dancing, and have a really good time in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Weirdly Wonderful Wednesday… Halloween Month is getting wonderfully WACKY at Creative Serenity!

We’ve been busy making cobwebs, complete with our own friendly eight-legged visitors. Keeping with the spooky theme, we created some gorgeous goth butterflies… or should we say MOTHs!

Our sugar skull inspired masks are coming along beautifully, with Angela and Michael working incredibly hard to create something really special. Meanwhile, Amy kept us all guessing as we watched her friendly paper monster take shape.

Lee brought his usual energy and his guitar, Ian and Tracy have embarked on a seriously challenging 1,000-piece jigsaw, and of course, there was plenty of dancing, music and singing before we settled down to finish our day with stories.

FREAKY FRIDAY AT CREATIVE SERENITY!

Things got a little spooky at Creative Serenity today, but thankfully nobody screamed too loudly… well, not that we’re admitting to!

We’ve been busy making Halloween masks, finishing off our beautiful autumn wreaths and creating some spooky decorations to get us into the Halloween spirit. Our creative side was definitely out in force!

Of course, no Freaky Friday would be complete without our usual music, dancing, singing and signing. We’ve been shaking our spooky stuff, singing our hearts out and proving that you don’t need to be able to dance to have a fabulous time!

A special mention to our fabulous volunteer Ellie, who has been busy creating LOTS of spiders. We’re beginning to wonder if she’s secretly running a spider farm!

It was lovely to welcome Karen back from her holiday, and a huge thank you to Gemma and Holly for helping everyone get involved and making sure our group was full of smiles, laughter and creativity.

At Creative Serenity, we believe everyone deserves friendship, fun, a chance to try something new and a place where they feel welcome. We might get a little messy, a little noisy and occasionally a little spooky, but we always have a brilliant time!

Wednesday at Creative Serenity and the spooky season is definitely taking over!

Today we carried on with our Halloween garlands, adding even more spooky touches and getting very creative. We also made some beautiful Autumn wreaths, because apparently we can’t decide whether we’re celebrating Halloween or embracing Autumn… so we’re doing both!

Meanwhile, Ian and Tracy have done it again and finished another seriously hard jigsaw. These two are becoming quite the puzzle-solving team!

We also welcomed Richard to the group and he has already made friends with everyone. It’s lovely watching new friendships grow and seeing everyone make people feel so welcome.

Then things got a little musical when Brian and Angela showed off their incredible air guitar skills. I’m not sure we’ve discovered the next rock legends just yet, but they certainly gave it everything they had!

And of course, Lee was being his usual self… keeping us entertained and making sure the day was never boring!

Another busy, creative and very happy Wednesday at Creative Serenity, with plenty of laughs, friendships, music and a whole lot of creativity.

It’s definitely starting to feel spooky at Creative Serenity…

Today we all got stuck into making our very own Halloween themed garlands, and there was plenty of paint, sequins and of course lots of googly eyes!

Mike decided to make a horse, Nicky proudly finished another pompom, Brian got busy making a big digger and scoop, and everyone put their own stamp on their creations.

Of course, we couldn’t have a Creative Serenity day without some music and dancing… so the afternoon soon turned into plenty of singing, dancing and having fun together.

Lots of creativity, lots of laughs and plenty of Halloween spirit…

What a busy Wednesday at Creative Serenity!

Our Creative Serenity pizzas and pizza boxes were finally finished off today, and we think they look pretty impressive! We’ve definitely got some budding pizza chefs in the group… although we’re still divided on whether pineapple belongs on a pizza! It most definitely does according to Sam

Today was also a very special day because it was Angela’s birthday, so of course we had to celebrate with chocolate cake. Birthdays at Creative Serenity always seem to involve cake… funny that!

And then we had a very important jigsaw moment…

After working incredibly hard on a very tricky 350-piece jigsaw, Ian FINALLY finished it! This was Ian’s first ever jigsaw and there were definitely moments when we thought we were missing pieces. But after a lot of searching, puzzling and a fair amount of determination… we found the final piece!

JIGSAW COMPLETE!

Ian didn’t get much time to relax though because he then joined forces with Tracy to help her with another one. We’re thinking Ian may have found himself a new career as our official Creative Serenity jigsaw expert!

We also had Richard join us for a taster session today and he fitted into the group perfectly. It was lovely to see him joining in, chatting and getting involved, so we’re really looking forward to welcoming him back every Wednesday from now on.

We currently have TWO afternoon places available on Wednesdays, from 1–4pm, so if you’re looking for a friendly, welcoming place where there’s always something going on, get in touch with Sam to arrange a visit or a free taster session.

Our Fridays are currently full, but we are taking names for our waiting list, so please get in touch if you’d like to be added.

And of course… we are ALWAYS looking for lovely volunteers to join our Creative Serenity family.

We need kind, patient and reliable people who enjoy spending time with adults with additional needs. You don’t need to have previous experience because training and support are provided… what matters most is having a friendly face, a willingness to get involved and being happy to have fun!

Pizza making day at Creative Serenity… and we can confirm there was a LOT of serious discussion about toppings!

Today we made our very own pizzas from scratch, complete with freshly made pizza bases and our very own pizza boxes proudly showing off the Creative Serenity logo. We definitely looked like a professional little pizza crew!

Everyone got to choose their favourite toppings and Lee was particularly pleased with his creation, telling us just how much he enjoyed choosing and adding all his favourite toppings. There was plenty of concentration going on… because obviously pizza topping decisions are very important business!

And we have settled one very important debate… pineapple absolutely DOES belong on pizza! We’re sure there will be people who strongly disagree, but we’re standing by our decision!

Once the pizzas were ready, we had plenty of music, dancing, singing and signing thrown into the day too. There’s never a dull moment at Creative Serenity and we love seeing everyone getting involved, having fun and supporting each other.

We’re also looking for some lovely volunteers to join our Creative Serenity team. We’re particularly looking for kind, patient and reliable people who enjoy spending time with adults with additional needs and are happy to get stuck into whatever the day brings… whether that’s arts and crafts, music, dancing, games, conversations or simply being there to encourage someone and help them have a great day.

Experience is always welcome but it isn’t essential as training and support are provided.

We especially need volunteers for our afternoon sessions, 1–4pm, on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Wednesday was another brilliant day at Creative Serenity.

We prepared our very own pizza boxes and made our pizza bases ready for the next stage of our tasty project. We were having so much fun that Sam completely forgot to take any photos!

Luckily, our lovely Liz was on hand with the camera and captured plenty of moments during our music and dance session. There was plenty of singing, dancing and general silliness going on, which is exactly how we like our Wednesdays!

The afternoon saw Ian continuing his mission to conquer the giant jigsaw puzzle. He is determined to get it finished very soon and is definitely not giving up! Tracy jumped in to help, and it was lovely to see friends working together, chatting and helping each other. That’s what Creative Serenity is all about… friendships, inclusion and having a great time together.

We also had another visit from Louie, who is getting to know everyone and finding his feet with us. We’re really looking forward to welcoming him properly into our Creative Serenity family.

And then there’s Halloween…

Holly has already been busy thinking up lots of spooky, silly and creative things for us to get up to because, let’s face it, Halloween is one of our favourite times of the year! There may be some very exciting things coming soon…

Fabulous Friday at Creative Serenity!

Our Hungry Caterpillars are coming along beautifully, and we’ve had another fantastic day watching everyone’s colourful creations come to life!

More hungry caterpillars have been finished, and everyone has thoroughly enjoyed making their own individual versions. No two caterpillars are quite the same, and we love seeing everyone’s creativity, imagination and personalities shine through.

But what’s a hungry caterpillar without something delicious to eat?

Next week, we’ll be getting busy making some yummy food for our hungry caterpillars to munch their way through. We’ve already got lots of delicious ideas, but we’d love to hear yours too! What’s your favourite food? Chocolate, strawberries, pizza, cake… or perhaps something a little more unusual? Let us know, because our caterpillars have very healthy appetites!

Of course, we couldn’t let Friday pass without our usual dose of music and mayhem. We danced, sang, signed and played along with our favourite percussion instruments. There were plenty of smiles, lots of enthusiasm and some rather impressive musical performances!

At Creative Serenity, we believe every day should be filled with friendship, creativity, laughter and opportunities to try something new. Whether we’re making fabulous crafts, enjoying music together or simply sharing a cuppa and a chat, there’s always something to look forward to.

Wednesday has arrived again, and what a wonderful day we’ve had!

Today we celebrated Mike’s birthday with a delicious caterpillar cake… which was rather fitting, because our creative project was all about caterpillars for our Hungry Caterpillar theme! Everyone designed and personalised their own, and they were all wonderfully different. Just like our fabulous group!

Brian, Angela and Lee arrived with enough energy to power the entire hall! There was dancing, singing and a few unexpected sprints thrown in for good measure. Sam was left wondering what on earth had given them so much energy… until we reached the only logical conclusion…

It was the chocolate cake!

We also had the pleasure of welcoming a new friend to our group and a fabulous new volunteer. We really are so incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful team of volunteers. They bring kindness, laughter and support, helping make Creative Serenity the very special place it is, where friendships flourish and everyone is encouraged to shine.
