✨ CRYOTHERAPY RESULTS – JUST TWO MONTHS APART! ✨

Take a look at these three photos showing our patient’s cryotherapy journey at Chapel Pharmacy! 💚

Our patient returned for their second treatment, and we could already see an improvement in pigmentation and size of the area.

At the follow-up appointment a further month later, pigmentation had improved significantly, alongside a more even skin texture.

❄️What is Cryotherapy?❄️

Cryotherapy emits a fine jet of Nitrous Oxide under high pressure, which allows our clinicians to work with millimetre precision. The affected area of wart, skin tag, or pigmentation is frozen, which in turn kills the localised cells causing them to shrivel and die.

🖐🏾🖐🏼Check Your Breasts!🖐🏽🖐🏾

Continuing on with Breast Cancer Awareness Month,
‘Breast awareness’ is about becoming familiar with your own breasts and how they change.

It is important to know how your body normally looks and feels. Being breast aware is about knowing the usual shape and feel of your breasts and being able to recognise any changes.

Small and frequent checks of your breasts can be done anytime, and you may find it helpful to add it into your routine, for example whilst you’re in the shower/bath or even just before you go to bed.

There is no such thing as a standard breast and what is normal for one person may not be for another. Your breasts will also look and feel different over time depending on the time of the month, and your age.

If you find any changes or abnormalities, it is important that you contact your GP as soon as possible.

Below is a helpful guide put together by Breast Cancer Care of how to accurately and effectively check your breasts.

Breast Screening 👩🏼‍⚕️

Breast Screening, often called a ‘Mammogram’, looks for Cancers within the Breasts that are too small to see or feel.

Regular Breast Screening is one of the best ways to spot cancer early and therefore:
- Make it more likely that treatment will be successful
- Make it less likely you will need to have a breast removed (mastectomy)

Screening is quick about 15 minutes and all mammograms are carried out by female staff. It may feel a little uncomfortable, but it shouldn't be painful, and it could make all the difference.

Screening units do not offer drop-in screening on request. If you're aged 50-70 you'll be invited every three years by appointment. If you’re aged 71 or over, you can still contact your breast screening unit to make an appointment every three years. Women with breast symptoms should see their GP.
