Behind the Rage: The Reality of Peri-Menopause
One of the hardest things about peri-menopause is that people often see the anger but not what's happening underneath. They assume you're an angry person, bad-tempered, unreasonable, or overreacting. The truth is, many of us are fighting a hormonal storm that affects our emotions in ways we never experienced before.
The rage is real.
It's not about being dramatic. It's not about being unable to cope. It's not about wanting to be angry. Sometimes it feels like the hormones that once helped us stay calm, patient and resilient have simply packed their bags and left.
Most of the time, I am kind, patient, compassionate and understanding. But peri-menopause can make emotions feel bigger, faster and harder to control. The smallest spark can feel like an explosion before you've even had a chance to think.

There are countless women walking around carrying this invisible struggle every day while still working, parenting, caring for others and trying to function as though nothing has changed.
If you're going through it too, please know you're not alone. And if you know someone who is, maybe offer a little grace. Sometimes what looks like anger is actually exhaustion, overwhelm, frustration and hormones all colliding at once.
Peri-menopause is not just hot flushes and missed periods.
Sometimes it's rage. Real, frightening, uncontrollable rage.

This video stopped me in my tracks.While some people are fighting battles they never asked for, our healthcare system is increasingly overwhelmed by demands that simply do not require a GP appointment.The NHS is struggling, not because people with genuine illness are seeking help, but because too many have come to view immediate access to medical care as an entitlement for every inconvenience, worry, or minor problem.Healthcare is a finite resource. Every unnecessary appointment takes time from someone who may be frightened, suffering, or desperately waiting for answers.It's time for a reality check. Personal responsibility matters. Common sense matters. Respect for healthcare professionals and fellow patients matters.If we want the NHS to survive and continue caring for those who truly need it, we must all think more carefully about how and when we use it.
