💙 HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE OF FORRES TOWN HALL 💙

FACT is looking for a Treasurer to play a key role in helping us build a strong, sustainable future for FACT and Forres Town Hall.

Could your financial skills help make a real difference in your community?

This is an exciting and important time for the organisation. We are working hard to strengthen our finances, develop new income streams, secure funding and ensure that Forres Town Hall continues to be a thriving community space for generations to come.

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable with numbers, budgets and financial planning and who can help our Board understand the financial picture and make well-informed decisions.

What matters most is that you have relevant financial knowledge, a practical approach and a genuine desire to use your skills to support your local community.

As Treasurer, you’ll work alongside a committed Board and help with:

• Financial oversight, budgeting and forecasting
• Helping the Board understand FACT’s financial position
• Monitoring income, expenditure and cash flow
• Supporting good financial governance and controls
• Contributing to funding and sustainability planning
• Helping us look ahead — not simply report on what has already happened

💛 Why volunteer with FACT?

Because this is about much more than spreadsheets.

Every booking, community project, event, class, coffee morning and gathering that takes place at Forres Town Hall relies on FACT being financially sustainable.

Your skills could directly help us protect an important community asset, support local people and build a stronger future for the Forres area.

You’ll join a friendly Board where your knowledge will be valued, your voice will matter and you’ll have the opportunity to make a visible difference in your community.

Could this be you - or someone you know?

We’d love to have an informal, no-obligation chat about the role.

🌿 Could you help shape the future of Community Intergenerational Health and Wellbeing and influence Scotland and the World?

Park Ecovillage Trust PET is looking for two passionate new Volunteer Trustees to help guide our Caring Community Circle:
✨ Director – Caring Community Circles (Trustee)
✨ Deputy Director – Caring Community Circles (Trustee)

These are strategic governance roles, ideal for people who care about building resilient, compassionate communities where people of all ages can flourish.

PET has been supporting regenerative living, eco-affordable housing, environmental stewardship, and community wellbeing since 1999 in the contest of the oldest Ecovillage on earth born in 1962: Ecovillage Findhorn.

As a trustee, you'll help shape the long-term direction of initiatives that strengthen neighbour-to-neighbour support, social inclusion, and community resilience.
We're looking for people with experience, or a strong interest, in areas such as:
💚 Community social and ecological regeneration
💚 Intergenerational health and wellbeing
💚 Social care or the voluntary sector
💚 Governance and strategic leadership
💚 Sustainability and regenerative communities
💚 Partnership building and fundraising

Previous trustee experience isn't essential. We will offer you an induction. What matters most is health and wellbeing background, collaborative mindset, sound judgement, and a genuine commitment to creating positive social impact.

In return, you'll join a supportive Board, receive a structured induction and mentoring, and have the opportunity to contribute to a unique organisation at the heart of Ecovillage Findhorn, helping shape practical models of regenerative community for the future.

DEMENTIA ACTION WEEK

As we mark Dementia Action WeeK, 17–24 May, at the Caring Community Circles we are reflecting on the importance of building communities that are informed, compassionate, and supportive for everyone affected by dementia. Dementia Action Week, led by the Alzheimer's Society encourages people and organisations across the UK to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and create more dementia-friendly communities.

We recognise that awareness is only the beginning.
Real community wellbeing grows through meaningful action, understanding, connection, and care for one another in everyday life.

At the CCC, we feel deeply grateful to have author and dementia expert Maggie La Tourelle as one of our advisors, alongside many other talented and experienced people who contribute wisdom, compassion, and practical insight to our shared work.

Maggie is the author of The Gift of Alzheimer’s: New Insights into the Potential of Alzheimer’s and Its Care, written with Neale Donald Walsch, and has spent many years supporting a more compassionate and holistic understanding of dementia and caregiving. Check in the comments to learn more about Maggie's work and dementia's action week.

Dementia touches the lives of millions of people, not only those living with the condition, but also families, friends, carers, neighbours, and wider communities. According to the Alzheimer’s Society, every three minutes someone in the UK develops dementia, making awareness, early understanding, and compassionate support more important than ever.

Being a caring community means learning how to better support one another with patience, kindness, inclusion, and dignity. Simple acts of understanding can make a profound difference. By improving awareness around dementia, we strengthen our collective ability to create environments where people feel safe, respected, connected, and valued at every stage of life. There is a lot of guidance available for supporting people, not just with dementia, but also for the ones around the people affected by dementia.

Dementia awareness is not only a health issue; it is also about community culture, human dignity, and how we care for one another as we journey through life together.

During this Dementia Action Week, from the CCC we invite everyone to take a moment to learn more, start conversations, and help foster communities where no one feels isolated, unseen, or forgotten. Through awareness, understanding, and compassionate action, we can help flourish a kinder future for all.
