"Me and my partner Jake started our IVF treatment in August 2025 after 4 years of infertility struggles due to my PSOC. From the very start all the staff members were amazing and made the process feel so special and stress free. They always made us feel reassured and positive when we ever had any questions or concerns.

"After a few weeks of injections and one egg collection later we found out we had 2 little embryos that made it, we were so happy☺️

"We found out on the 20th September that our transfer had been successful after our first try. We felt so lucky and blessed!

"23rd April 2026 our baby boy Tommy was born, coming into the world 6 weeks early, weighing only 3lbs 6oz but came out fighting, doing absolutely amazing and healthy. He is now 10 weeks old and thriving!

Kicking the week off with one of our heroes! Charlotte recently ran the Great North Run (braving the 🌞🔥), all in the name of our Unit! 🏃‍♀️🫶🥇

"It was an honour running the Great North Run for the fertility unit. Despite the added ‘endurance’ of this year’s crazy heat, the 13 miles will always pale into comparison with what the QE did for me. I decorated my t-shirt with sperms and embryo prints to further raise awareness of the unit.

"I was blown away by people’s generosity in donations, but I think it’s because my friends and family know just how much this meant to me and how many lives infertility often touches without people even knowing.

"Safe to say I was knackered at the end but it was worth it!"

Our September 2026 Stats 👣

September welcomed 9 new arrivals into the world, including a very special set of twins! 👶👶

5 baby boys and 4 baby girls, each one the result of a journey built on courage, patience and hope.

From our smallest arrival at 2lb 15oz to our biggest at 8lb 1oz, every single birth is a milestone we feel privileged to have been part of.

To every family we've supported this month: thank you for letting us share in your story. 🤍

And to anyone still on their journey: we see you, we're with you, and we're here every step of the way.

A quick note about contacting the unit 💛

If you ring us and get our voicemail, it's usually because one of the team is on the phone with another patient. Please leave us a message and we'll get back to you.

We listen to every message and call back in order of clinical need:

👉Urgent clinical queries: we'll do our best to call you back the same day, before 5pm.
👉Non-urgent queries: we aim to call you back within 72 hours.
1⃣ One message per query is plenty. Extra voicemails about the same thing take longer to get through, and that can hold up our replies to other patients, including those with urgent needs.

Thank you for your patience. We know waiting for a call back isn't always easy. We also ask that everyone treats our team and other patients with kindness and respect 💖

"We had Ivf treatment in 2019 after unexplained infertility. The first fresh transfer failed. Then had a frozen embryo transfer with our final embryo which luckily worked.

"Our wonderful little boy Leo was born June 2020 at the QE in the mist of covid lockdown. He is now a lively 4 year old who is so loving and full of joy.

"We had such a positive experience at Gateshead. All the staff were so kind and caring all the way through.

"We can’t thank them enough for everything they did in helping us to have our little boy."

"After trying for well over three years, we were finally referred to Fertility North East, where we spent almost a year going through tests and investigations. We were eventually told that we would need to undergo ICSI. We did our research and, quite frankly, made the best decision we have ever made by choosing Gateshead Fertility Clinic.

"From our very first appointment in October 2025, the staff at the clinic were nothing short of fantastic. Every single person we met was caring, reassuring and supportive, and we genuinely could not have wished for a better experience.

"In December 2025, we found out that we were pregnant, and we also had two little embryos safely frozen for the future. From the nurses and consultants to every other member of staff we had the pleasure of dealing with, we will be forever grateful for everything you have done for us.

"You really are special people, and you should be incredibly proud of the work you do. You give people like us the chance to have the family we always dreamed of, and we will never be able to thank you enough for that.
