Carers' Rights Day 2026 – Come Along and Meet Us!

Are you an unpaid carer, or do you support someone who relies on your help? Come along to Carers' Rights Day in Grimsby and discover the advice, information and support available to you.

Focus will be joining Carers' Support NEL and other local organisations for a friendly and informative drop-in event, helping carers connect with services and access the support they need.

📅 Thursday 19th November 2026
⏰ 10am – 12.30pm
📍 Carers Support Centre, 1 Town Hall Square, Grimsby

On the day, you can:

- Speak to the Focus team about adult social care, support and guidance.
- Meet local organisations offering information and advice for carers.
- Access free health checks.
- Get one-to-one computer tuition.
- Find out about utility saving advice and book an appointment.

There's no need to book – simply drop in and have a chat!

💎 A well-deserved October GEM Award!

Today, Steve was recognised for the passion and commitment he brings to Care Plus Group.

From his important role within Urgent and Emergency Care and partnership working across our local health system, to recently completing his term as a Staff Governor, Steve consistently supports his colleagues and the wider organisation.

The Macmillan Living with and Beyond Cancer Team recently held a successful Men’s Wellbeing Session, where participants spent the morning engaging in a range of informative and supportive activities.

Guests heard inspiring talks from Andys Man Club and Ryan Page, who delivers the Community Cancer Care Physical Activity Programme. Jim, our HOPE Facilitator, led a relaxing breathing and meditation session to support wellbeing and resilience.

The group also took part in a Look Good Feel Better session and received a men's skincare gift bag. The Cancer Collaboratives were on hand to raise awareness of the early signs and symptoms of cancer, alongside colleagues from the Welfare and Benefits Team, who provided valuable advice and support.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all our guest speakers, Care Plus Group Charitable Trust for their generous donation towards the skincare products, and Mr Biggles Bakery, helping to make the event such a success. 💙

One gentleman who attended said “The support available to those that may need it, has opened my eyes, the amount is vastly more than I thought”

This Christmas, Quayside Medical Centre and Open Door Grimsby are collecting donations to help bring comfort and joy to local people who may be struggling over the festive period.
