With the festive season approaching, the diary tends to fill quickly. There are Christmas parties, dinners with friends, family gatherings and, before we know it, New Year’s Eve 💫

It’s often the time of year we most want our skin to look its best, and, with colder weather and busier schedules, it can also be when it feels least cooperative.

This is where our advanced facial treatments come in. Designed to deeply cleanse, gently exfoliate and replenish hydration, they leave the skin looking fresher, brighter and visibly more radiant, often straight after treatment. With no downtime, they fit easily around a busy week.

Many of our patients like to book one a few days before a special occasion, so their skin feels at its best.

If you’d like to find out which facial would suit your skin, our team would be very happy to talk you through the options when it comes to skin maintenance in-between your injectables.

As the temperature drops, many of us start to notice our skin behaving a little differently.

It might feel tighter after cleansing, look duller than usual, or become more reactive to products it was perfectly happy with a few months ago.

Some patients notice dry patches or flaking for the first time, while others find their usual moisturiser simply isn't doing enough.

None of this is unusual. Colder air outside, central heating inside, and longer, hotter showers can all draw moisture from the skin and leave its barrier feeling compromised.

The good news is that a few small, considered changes can make a real difference. We've shared six of the tips we find ourselves giving most often at this time of year.

Swipe through, and save this for the months ahead 🤍

If your skin is feeling a little out of sorts and you'd like advice tailored to you, our team would be very happy to help. Get in touch to book a consultation.

Ready for one of our most-loved treatments đź’§

Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid treatment that works beneath the surface to deeply hydrate the skin and support collagen and elastin. It doesn’t add volume or change your features. It simply leaves the skin firmer, smoother and more radiant over the weeks that follow.

Unlike traditional dermal fillers, it spreads evenly to remodel tissue. It softens crepey skin, rough patches, and fine surface wrinkles. HA is hydrophilic, meaning it draws and holds water from your body, so Profhilo acts as a hydrator, this makes it fantastic for those with tired, dull-looking skin.

This treatment has minimal downtime, and results that look entirely natural.

If you are looking to improve your skin quality and achieve luminous healthy skin, and would like to discuss whether Profhilo is right for you, please contact our team.

We often talk about creating natural looking results, here’s what we mean.

Natural-looking aesthetics isn’t about achieving a particular look. It’s about understanding the individual behind every treatment, and creating something entirely bespoke.

Facial proportions, anatomy, expression and personal preferences all play a part in creating a considered approach.

At Sapphire Medical Aesthetics, we believe that excellent aesthetic care is just as much about knowing when not to treat as it is about knowing how to treat.

It’s about recognising the details that make you unique, preserving your individuality and recommending treatments that complement your natural features.

The most beautiful results are those that feel completely your own.

Facial ageing is more complex than the fine lines and wrinkles you start to see as time goes on.

As we age, changes occur throughout multiple layers of the face, including our skin, fat compartments, muscles, supporting ligaments and even the underlying bone.

These changes happen at different rates and in different ways for every individual. What appears to be skin laxity, for example, may also be influenced by changes in facial volume or the supporting structures beneath the skin.

This is why we believe in looking at the face as a whole.

At Sapphire Medical Aesthetics, our approach is centred around understanding your individual anatomy, recognising the changes taking place and recommending treatments that are appropriate for your concerns.

Natural-looking, balanced results aren’t about treating every line, but understanding the layers behind them.

To discuss your concerns and explore your options, contact our team to arrange a consultation.

Here’s why we often recommend a resurfacing step as the seasons change 👇🏼

As we move into autumn, skin can start to look a little duller and feel less even. Summer can leave behind congestion, uneven texture and pigmentation.

Regular, controlled exfoliation is one of the simplest ways to address this, and it’s why the Obagi CLENZIDERM M.D.® Resurfacing Multi-Acid Peel Pads have become a favourite in clinic.

Each pad combines four clinically proven acids: glycolic, phytic, salicylic and mandelic. Each one is chosen for its molecular weight, so they work at different depths of the skin.

The result is a multi-layered resurfacing action that smooths texture and fine lines, decongests, refines the look of pores and reduces visible discolouration.

Niacinamide is included to help calm the appearance of redness and support the skin barrier. The dual-sided textured pads also mean exfoliation can be tailored to how your skin is feeling on the day.

These pads are particularly well suited to normal, oily and combination skin, and to anyone concerned with blemishes, uneven tone or texture.

As with all of our medical-grade skincare, we’d always recommend speaking with our team first, so we can make sure it’s the right fit for your skin and your routine.

Your skin barrier does a great deal of work.

It holds moisture in, keeps irritants out and helps your skin stay calm and balanced. After a peel, a course of retinoids or a more active treatment, it sometimes needs a little extra support to recover.

That’s where Obagi REBALANCE Skin Barrier Recovery Cream comes in.

This lightweight moisturiser is formulated with Obagi’s BarrierPlex Technology, a considered blend of:
— postbiotics to support a healthy skin microbiome
— green algae to help calm irritation
— ceramides to help strengthen the barrier
— niacinamide and squalane to boost hydration and smooth texture

It’s one we often recommend as part of our patients’ post-treatment care, and it’s also well suited to sensitive, reactive or easily compromised skin.

If you’d like to know whether this is right for your skin, our team would be happy to advise at your next appointment or consultation ✨
