The Float Spa is one of Brighton and Hove's leading destination for relaxation, rejuvenation and wellness. Offering state of the art floatation pods as well as a range of complementary therapies, yoga and meditation classes, The Float Spa is the ultimate choice for improving your mental and physical wellbeing. Floatation is a practice where you float effortlessly in a special pod of Epsom Salt water. Without the constant noise of the outside world, your mind deeply relaxes and your muscles, joints and bones take a well-deserved break. Floating can provide pain relief for people suffering from long term muscular or bone pain and can be very helpful in relieving depression, anxiety and sleep problems. We also have a stunning yoga studio offering a range of Yoga classes for all levels and abilities, ranging from Vinyasa Flow to Kundalini and as much in-between. You can also come to us for massage, chiropractic care and a variety of wellbeing workshops.

Massage isn’t just for tight muscles. It can be a gentle way to release emotions your body is holding. When tension softens, feelings can arise, settle and finally let go. It’s calm, human and deeply healing.

Will my mind switch off, or will I just lie there thinking?

Most people find that their first float involves quite a bit of thinking, and that’s completely natural. The mind takes time to settle. But without anything to look at, hear, or feel, the mental chatter gradually has nowhere to go. Over time, and often within a single session, most people find they drift into a genuinely quiet, calm state. Regular floaters often describe this as one of the greatest benefits, that rare feeling of mental stillness.

Can massage help with stress and anxiety, not just physical pain?

Absolutely, and this is one of the most important things we want people to know. Massage has a direct physiological effect on the nervous system. It lowers cortisol, increases serotonin and dopamine, and brings the body into a parasympathetic, rest-and-heal state. Many of our clients come to us primarily for stress, anxiety, and emotional exhaustion, and leave feeling genuinely lighter. Wellbeing is mind and body together, and massage serves both.
