ETR Welcome to ETR. Evolve, Transform, Rejuvenate. I offer an enriching experience of therapeutic techni

My work centres around ways to address stress and anxiety, finding relaxation and
resolution through body, breath and mind. As a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist, massage therapist and breathwork practitioner, I
tailor my approach to support clients in a number of ways:
● Menopause support to help manage the profound shifts during this transition,
addressing physical changes and releasing accumulated tension, as well as tackling
emotional and psychological changes such as mood swings, hot flashes, sleep
issues, loss of confidence and feelings of decreased womanliness.
● Stress management at work: Highly pressured environments can take their toll on
behaviour, performance and relationships, causing you to lose sight of who you are. Together, we can take the pressure off, reducing stress and anxiety in a range of
ways to help get your physical and mental health back on track.
● Teenage support to help manage the stress and anxiety of these difficult years. My
approach helps with social anxiety, performance anxiety, exam stress and low self
esteem.
● Empowerment focused support to change negative thoughts into positive beliefs. Through assertiveness training and SMART goal setting, we help you express
yourself effectively and stand up for yourself, addressing performance anxiety and
boosting self esteem for increased confidence and motivation. THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
My approach blends body, breath and mind to offer treatments that address the impact of
modern life on our stress levels. Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH) is a powerful and potent way to address and
overcome many of life’s difficulties, enabling you to challenge unhealthy beliefs, effect
change and to strengthen healthy beliefs. Hypnosis can produce profound behavioural, emotional, cognitive and physiological changes
in a relatively short treatment time. Depending on therapy goals, clients might become
profoundly relaxed, calm and accepting; highly energised and proactive or experience a
deep shift in confidence. BACKGROUND
I am an experienced wellbeing practitioner having worked for over 18 years in yoga,
mindfulness, meditation, relaxation, breathing techniques, Acceptance and Commitment
Therapy (ACT) and massage therapy. Many of my clients came to me with high levels of
stress and anxiety, which prompted me to study for qualifications in Evidence Based
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

and hypnosis) and Stress Management and Resilience. By drawing on all areas of my
expertise, I can tailor solutions to suit individual clients and their needs.

A calmer mind doesn’t mean never feeling anxious, stressed or overwhelmed.

It means developing different ways of responding when those experiences show up.

In cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy, CBT and hypnosis can be integrated rather than treated as two completely separate approaches. We can work with thoughts and beliefs, behaviours and avoidance, attention, emotional responses and the patterns that may be keeping a difficulty going.

Hypnosis isn’t about losing control or being “put under”. It can be understood as a way of working with focused attention, imagination, expectations and therapeutic suggestions while you remain actively involved in the process.

For me, this is what makes the work so interesting: understanding the pattern is important, but therapy can also help us practise responding differently when that pattern is actually happening.

My approach is evidence-based, collaborative and very human. There is space to understand what has brought you here, while also developing practical ways of moving forward.

I offer CBT & Hypnotherapy face-to-face in Brighton & Hove and online across the UK.

If you’ve been thinking about therapy and you’re not quite sure where to begin, you’re very welcome to get in touch. 🌿

Some people come to therapy knowing exactly what they want to work on.

Others simply know that something keeps repeating.

The overthinking.
The pressure they put on themselves.
The difficulty switching off.
Poor sleep or waking with their mind already racing.
Feeling anxious even when everything looks fine from the outside.
Always being the capable one.
Pushing through stress until exhaustion becomes normal.

You don’t need to understand all of it before coming to therapy.

Part of the work is becoming curious together about what is happening. What you think, what you feel, what happens in your body, what you do automatically, and the patterns or beliefs that may be sitting underneath it.

We begin to understand why certain patterns keep happening, what keeps them going, and what might help you respond differently.

My work is grounded in evidence-based CBT and also draws on ACT, hypnotherapy, mindfulness-based practices, stress management and resilience building, within a trauma-informed approach.

Because understanding something intellectually and being able to respond differently when you are actually anxious, overwhelmed or under pressure are not always the same thing.

My approach is evidence-based, but also very human. I want therapy to be somewhere you can feel heard and understood, while also developing practical ways of creating meaningful change in your everyday life.

I work face to face in Brighton and Hove and online across the UK.

Some of the hardest patterns to recognise are the ones that have helped us succeed.

Perhaps you’ve always been responsible.

You prepare properly. You notice what needs doing. You care about doing things well. People know they can rely on you.

There is nothing wrong with any of those qualities.

But sometimes, underneath them, there is a pressure that other people don’t necessarily see.

I should have done more.
I shouldn’t make mistakes.
I don’t want to disappoint anyone.
I’ll rest when I’ve finished everything.

And when you live with those rules for long enough, they can stop feeling like rules at all.

They simply feel like you.

This is one of the things I find so interesting about working with perfectionism in CBT.

We’re not trying to take away someone’s ambition, conscientiousness or high standards.

We become curious about what happens when you can’t meet them.

Can you make a mistake without attacking yourself for it?

Can something be good enough?

Can you disappoint someone and still feel okay?

Can you rest while something remains unfinished?

Often, those questions tell us much more than asking, “Am I a perfectionist?”

And once we begin to recognise the rules operating quietly underneath our behaviour, we can start exploring where they came from, what keeps reinforcing them — and whether they are still serving us now.

You don’t have to change anything today.

Perhaps just notice the next “I should…” that appears.

And listen to what comes after it. 🌿

I work therapeutically with perfectionism, anxiety, stress, overthinking, sleep and self-esteem, using evidence-based CBT alongside hypnotherapy.

Sometimes the working day ends, but your mind doesn’t get the message.

You’re home. Nothing needs your attention right now.

And yet your mind is still somewhere in the conversation from earlier. Replaying what you said. Thinking about what you should have said. Running through tomorrow. Preparing for situations that haven’t even happened yet.

For many people I work with, overthinking isn’t a lack of awareness.

They already know they do it.

The difficult part is knowing what to do when the mind gets caught in the same loop again particularly when you’re tired, anxious or finally have enough quiet for everything you’ve been holding during the day to surface.

So tonight, rather than giving yourself another job by telling yourself “I need to stop thinking”, try becoming curious about the pattern.

What does your mind keep returning to when everything becomes quiet?

A conversation?
Something you might have done wrong?
Tomorrow?
Other people’s opinions?
Something you feel responsible for?

That little observation can tell us a great deal.

This is part of the work I love doing through CBT and hypnotherapy not simply telling people to “think differently”, but understanding what keeps a pattern going and gradually learning another way of responding to it.

If this feels very familiar, you don’t have to work it all out tonight. 🌿

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, overthinking, stress and related patterns in Brighton & Hove and online across the UK.

When did you last have 75 minutes where nobody needed anything from you?

Not to answer a message.
Not to organise something.
Not to look after somebody.
Not even to improve yourself.

Just somewhere to arrive.

My Friday Mindful Yoga returns tomorrow at Brighton Buddhist Centre.

This practice goes beyond stretching.

We use movement to come back into the body.

Breath to meet the nervous system.

Stillness to notice the mind.

And awareness to create a little space between what we experience and how we react.

Because sometimes we don’t need another thing to become better at.

We need somewhere to hear ourselves again.

What if, for one hour a week, your teenager didn’t have to achieve anything?

Growing up has never been particularly simple. But I sometimes wonder what it feels like to be a teenager now — growing up in Brighton & Hove with school pressures, friendships, expectations, constant information, phones and a world that rarely becomes quiet.

And somewhere amongst all of that, they are still discovering who they are.

This is one of the reasons I continue to teach my Teen Yoga Stress management & Relaxation classes in Brighton & Hove.

It isn’t really about becoming “good at yoga”.

It’s an hour where young people can come as they are. We move, breathe, stretch, sometimes laugh, learn simple ways of working with stress and anxiety, and always leave time to slow everything down and deeply relax.

Over time, I hope they discover something much more useful than a perfect yoga pose: the ability to notice themselves.

To recognise when they are overwhelmed.
To know when they need to pause.
To breathe, soften and find their way back to themselves.

The young woman speaking in this video came to my teen yoga classes for many years. She is at university now, which makes hearing her reflections particularly special to me. 💛

Sometimes we don’t know at the time which small experiences young people will carry with them into adulthood.

Our Teen Yoga & Relaxation group returns next Thursday, 17 September, 4:45–5:45pm, in Brighton & Hove.

It’s a small, welcoming group and no previous yoga experience is needed.

If you have a teenager who could use a little more space to breathe, settle and simply be, they would be very welcome. 🌿

Maybe this is your invitation. 🌿

If you’ve been watching my videos this week and quietly thinking,

“I really need something like this…”

today is the final day to join us.

You don’t need to arrive motivated.

You don’t need to do everything perfectly.

And you certainly don’t need to have your life organised for seven days.

Just come as you are.

For one week, we’re going to simplify.

Nourish the body differently.
Move and breathe together each morning.
Support the nervous system.
Create a little less stimulation and a little more space.

And begin noticing the thoughts, habits and patterns that normally move so quickly that we barely see them.

There will be structure and guidance — but this isn’t another thing to succeed at.

Take what supports you. Adapt what you need to.

This isn’t about becoming a different person in seven days.

It’s about becoming quiet enough to reconnect with the person who is already there underneath all the noise.

What story is your mind telling you today? 🌿

Sometimes a thought has been repeated for so long that we stop experiencing it as a thought.

It simply begins to feel true.

I’m not enough.
I should be doing more.
Something is going to go wrong.
What will they think?

One of the things we’ll explore during our 7-Day Inner Reset is not how to get rid of these thoughts — or replace them with forced positivity.

It’s something much gentler.

Can I notice the thought without immediately becoming the thought?

This is where modern CBT and ancient yoga philosophy meet so beautifully.

Both invite us to become curious about the movements of the mind — and to discover that little space between having a thought and being carried away by it.

Perhaps notice today:

What story am I telling myself?

What happens in my body when I believe it?

And what changes if, just for a moment, I simply observe?

Sometimes awareness itself creates space. 🌿

Our 7-Day Anti-Inflammatory Inner Reset begins Monday.

Tomorrow is the final day to join us.

If it feels like something you need right now, send me a message.
