A Weekend for the People Who Hold So Much ❤️
This weekend, we had the privilege of bringing together an incredible group of kinship carers for a retreat focused on rest, connection, and wellbeing.
Kinship carers often step into one of life’s most challenging and selfless roles, providing love, stability, and care for children who need it most. Yet so often, their own needs are placed at the bottom of the list.
Over the course of our time together, we slowed down, shared stories, took time to breathe, laughed, reflected, and created space to simply be. There was no pressure to perform or fix anything, just an opportunity to connect with others who truly understand the unique journey of kinship care.
Watching friendships form, hearing experiences shared without judgement, and witnessing carers give themselves permission to receive support was incredibly powerful.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such a warm, supportive, and compassionate atmosphere. The strength, resilience, and love within this community is truly inspiring.
We hope each person left feeling a little more grounded, a little more supported, and reminded that they do not have to carry everything alone.
💚 Because carers deserve care too.
